May be interested in hooking up with some ex Inter pals at Selhurst?

Senegalese star Khalilou Fadiga has seen his move to Bolton Wanderers collapse, skysports.com can reveal.

The 29-year-old has been training with Bolton over the last week and looked set to join fellow countryman El Hadji Diouf at The Reebok Stadium.

However, the player's agent Charles Collymore has now confirmed that a deal has broken down.

"We had a verbal agreement and the club have gone back on it," he told skysports.com.

"The offer made was not acceptable for a player of his proven ability by a long way."

The news could alert a number of clubs - including Southampton, who were interested in his signature prior to Paul Sturrock's departure from the club.

Collymore added: "We are now looking elsewhere in England and there is interest in him."

Fadiga has been looking for a new club since departing Internazionale earlier this summer.

So he's on a freebie? I'd take him in a second.

Who Cares?

I assume that having been unable to complete moves/deals with Djorkaeff, Petit and this fella that we know of Allardyce is about to depart for, say, Blackburn in frustration and that the Bolton chairman is being well and truly castigated for failure to back his manager.....

I think he is a great player and would instantly command a place in our first team. Worth a look.

We are looking at him but Charlton are set to be the first in-line if he gets a move to England.

He is a good player and exactly what we need in midfield, hes very creative and can hold up play well too. Would be a great signing.

It was a joke mate. Scored a good goal with him once, 30 yards out.

Fadiga would be a fabulous acquisition.

And I don't use the word 'fabulous' too often.

Am I right in thinking he plays on the left wing?

But surely he'll have been convinced we are the better option once he hears of yesterday's victory? ;)

Oh, so Bolton aren't in England then?

The point of the thread was that the deal with Bolton has fallen apart, allegedly.

I know, but Dartford Lad confidently claimed that Charlton had first dibs on him if he goes to England. Being as it looks like Bolton had their man and then pulled out/changed the terms/whatever. It doesn't look like Charlton were first in line does it?

OK, but until a few hours ago, he seemed to be heading for Bolton. Strikes me as being a bit quick for a pecking order to have emerged, but stranger things have happened.

Certainly a player I'd like to see at the club.

I could see him wanting to come to Selhurst but us not being willing to pay the wages he requires.

Anyway what happened to the attraction of the bright lights of London that a few years ago all the foreign players wanted to come for? It seems they all want to go to M'boro, Bolton nowadays, money maybe?

He would be a good signing if his heart problem has cleared up!

Signed for Inter last season, featured in some pre seasons then as I understand it he became seriously ill, although I'm not too sure what was wrong with him. He didn't play one game for Inter last season. As for position he is a left winger, but he can also play in a more central role too. I haven't actually seen the guy play so I have no idea what he's like.

Piece on it here though... http://www.soccerage.com/en/13/o8915.html

Apparently he had an arrythmia (irregular heartbeat), which is serious if not treated. We could have ended up with another Marc Vivien Foe type incident.

On trial at Bolton now I think so we can probably cross him off the list in any case

Again, the whole point of this thread, if you actually read it, is that the Bolton deal fell apart.

has now signed for Bolton:

17:42 14Sep2004 RTRS-Soccer-Fadiga signs for Bolton

LONDON, Sept 14 (Reuters) - Senegalese midfielder Khalilou Fadiga, who underwent heart surgery in May, has joined Bolton Wanderers until the end of the season, the Premier League club said on Tuesday.
Fadiga, who has been training with Bolton for the past month, joined Inter Milan last year but was sidelined after tests revealed an abnormal heartbeat which Italian doctors said put his life at risk.
A member of Senegal's squad who reached the 2002 World Cup quarter-finals, the 29-year-old left-sided midfielder underwent heart surgery in Belgium in May but has joined Bolton after being out of contract at Inter.
Fadiga, who began his career with Paris St. Germain and also had spells in Belgium with Liege and Club Bruges, had joined Inter from Auxerre in July 2003.
