I have an Uruguayan friend who when he found out Serrondo was playing for Palace suggested we should be after Recoba. He is also with
Inter Milan and apparently doesn't play so often. Being an Uruguayan he might team up well with Serrondo a la Aki and Kolkaa. From what I have seen of him, last World Cup finals, he is fantastic and a very honest player. True, all he gets is 70 minutes max, maybe even less but you get a great deal from him. I'll bet he is a possible loan deal. Go on Iain, you know it makes sense.:p

There's no room at Palace for anyone that can only manage 70 minutes.

Hes fecking quality!! very very rich aswell i'd imagine!

Might be a little bit too rich for us, unless Inter pay the wages.

ahahahahahahahahahaha let's try for both Ronaldos and Pele while we're at it. Recoba is a bit too good for us I'm afraid. and he'd still be second fiddle to AJ.

wasent he the highest paid player in world football about a year or to ago? Think that says it all!

Correct he was the most highly paid player not much longer than a year ago.

And i d have to take umbridge with the quote that he s an honest player. He s a cheating b*stard, always diving all over the place, been sent off a few times in matches i ve seen. Sweet left peg but this is a pipe dream.

He's a lazy sod too.

Gives up when things aren't going right.

Unfortunately we are not quite ready to attract the likes of Recoba. of course he would be a great aquisition but it isn't going to happen at the moment, no chance.

Anyone who thinks this is a possibility is off their head...

From what I heard he would welcome a good run out and where better than in the Premiership with his good mate Gonzalo.

Recoba is on over 100k a week, there is absolutely no chance of this happening!!

Duffle, you are quite clearly unaware about the huge stature of Recoba or perhaps your Uruguayan friend is unaware of the stature of our wonderful football club. There are crossed wires somewhere!

Recoba would be a great signing but highly unlikely. Am I right in thinking that at one point when he first signed for Inter he was the highest paid player in the world?

I'm for asking him anyway. See it now: "Andy Johnson to Recoba and he scores !!! That's a great way to pay back the man who gave you the pass to complete a hat trick. Palace 6 (yes six), Liverpool 0. AJ 3, Recoba 3. Are we on the verge of seeing the Premiership title move from North London to South London ? What a game ! "

Would be an amazing signing, the likelihood of it happening is surely minute!

This has to be up there with the most ridiculous threads I've read on the BBS. Recoba is a regular squad player for Inter, and would instantly command a starting place in any of the top three clubs in this country. So the chances of Palace signing him are less than 1%.

hahahahaha, no sh1t.
Recoba @ Palace? LOL. Not until Palace are in Europe.

Has anyone seen Inter -Samp today. Five minutes left. Inter down 2-0 at home. Enter one Recoba. Starts the action. Hits a post with a 30yard shot. Lays on goal numero 1. Lays on goal numero 2. Hits the winner in injury time- a beauty. He is undoubtedly the world's best. Will only say, he was irregular with Inter. A mate of mine (no pissing this is real) knows his father. Says he was unhappy at Inter (probably not after today I suppose ). Would welcome a move to England. Yes, I know all the shit about 50,000 a week and all that. But he is friends with Gonzalo. If it comes up that he is a loan possibility we should go mad to get him. I swear he turned the game on his own like Maradonna. All you people calling him fat and ugly and all that, pipe down. Dowie should talk with his Inter contacts. Though after today we are probably out of luck now. But that thing about welcoming a move to the Premiership is real. I know it.

I heard we were after him at the start of the season, he was Dowie's number two target.

But at the last minute, on deadline day, Dowie was able to pull off a masterstroke and sign his number one man, Wayne Andrews, so the double deal for Recoba and Adriano was off :p.

I reckon Recoba is one of the best players in the world - on his day.

Amazing technique (as shown by that goal today). I would welcome him at Selhurst Park - but I can't see it happening.
