Apparently Dowie and AJ opened the new wing of the Churchill building in Bromley on Monday.

The building is at Bromley South and the new wing is above the horrible Weatherspoons.

As I work for Churchill I was pleased that they choose them to officially open the wing, but annoyed that they didnt announce it to their staff so I missed it!! :veryangry

I live in the road behind that building so would have popped over if I'd known!!

Well, they might not have wanted members of the public wandering around their offices but I cant see why they didnt tell their own staff.

So very corporate these days. No chance of getting in the Palace box and rarely any free tickets these days. Think this has more to do with Churchill's attitude than the club who seem happy to play ball and give corporate gifts etc to their main sponsor.

Damn their eyes.

How is Churchill now that the Royal Bank of Scotland are fully involved? RBS has a way of decreasing staff morale quite nicely.

Churchill was bought by RBS as Jules correctly mentioned.

Not too bad to answer your question Jules. There are murmurings of disquiet but the healthy share options are keeping most people smiling.

It sure has - I haven't been in there since it changed, but I'm sure it's still a toilet!

No way. I am gutted if this was the case as I work for RBS Insurance (who own Churchill) and have been off for the last week so did not hear anything about this.

Wren Court for me.

Apparently because the new wing is for Churchill Retail it was only Churchill Retail staff who were informed and invited.

I worked for Churchill in Brom for 2 and a half years, that Wetherspoons took a lot of my pitiful wage....................

I will never forget that when I started, myself and all the otehr new people had to write and perform a song, saying how much we loved Churchill......

I am still scarred.......

might be wrong, but I think Lloyds are owned by Wetherspoons and were simply re-branded in a somewhat desperate attempt to move some of their pubs / bars more upmarket.

Agreed, except Lloyds are the High Street brand and play music. Wetherspoons policy is no music.

I went into Lloyds in Bromley, for the first time since it changed, the other day. Couldn't say I noticed much difference ; there were a few TV screens which seemed to be showing nothing in particular (apparently they don't show football) and the music was piped in and barely audible. The punters were exactly the same - in fact, a fight nearly broke out in the short time I was in there.

Makes me wonder why they had to close for several days just to put a few TVs on the wall!
