Little Matt posted a good explanation on a thread a while back

I'm ••••ed if I can remember which one though.

PalaceMonkey 14-03-2008 03:59 PM

simple way

click on post reply

click on IMG

insert picture URL.

click ok.

job done.

lanepe 14-03-2008 04:08 PM

:D

Thanks for the pic.

OK, starting from the basics I just checked out 'URL' on wikipedia and now (sort of) know what you are talking about.

But say I do a search on google images and see the picture I want, how do I get the URL? Do I need to click on the image to find the original source of the photo and then copy the address beggining 'http'?

Sorry for being special.

In firefox on pc, right click on an image, select copy image location, then start a new post on BBS, click img button and paste (Control V) the image location into pop up window and submit.

Firefox?

When I right click I don't have 'copy image location'. I do get 'Copy Shortcut' which is what I tried above. Failed again :(

So, take the url http://images.wildmadagascar.org/pic...Fossa_Tana.jpg

click the img button when you make a post and put that url in it and you get:

http://images.wildmadagascar.org/pic...Fossa_Tana.jpg

How many more people do you need to try and tell you how?

If the LNC can't train you.... no one can!

:D

rbarmy 14-03-2008 09:17 PM

simple way to do it: It's like a sandwich - kind of like it means 'image' and 'close image'
so... ''
for example - copy http://www.elitealpacaauction.com/Im.../Boos_Male.jpg

and paste it inbetween the
and you get

http://www.elitealpacaauction.com/Im.../Boos_Male.jpg

Yep, follow chatham_eagle's easy guide.

I found that my firewall was causing a problem in not letting the pop up box appear when you click IMG. Once I allowed pop up's and followed c_e's advice it was a sinch.

how do i post a picture that i have saved to a drive? or do i have to open a web page?

Embassy No.1 02-04-2008 01:54 PM

You can load it up onto the site by Attaching a file, then linking it with [img]'s, but it takes up space so understandably; mod's prefer people to use online image cache's.

I use photobucket. But there are others about.

Follow instructions: http://s145.photobucket.com

If it happens to be that picture of me looking completely twatted that you showed me the other night, I am going to kill you to death in the head.

blazey_cpfc 29-12-2008 08:46 PM

Because the picture is either no longer available or at the location where you have got the address from. Check you have the complete URL for your photos. For your FB photos, the URL should end in .com then a sequence of letters and numbers.
See my PM for instructions.

Drop Bucket is much easier then Photobucket, It's just like a folder on your computer but all the storage is on line
http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/1659419/Hawaiian.jpg

To get this photo all I had to do was hold down left button drag it into my Dropbox folder. To post that back onto the bbs or send it to someone else you just right click on img in Dropbox folder go to Dropbox menu, left click copy public link, and post on here in the normal way, click insert img button, right click in box and copy. So fast it's unbelievable. You can sign up to Dropbox using link in signature that will help me get some extra storage space.

You need to upload the photo to a webiste like Photobucket, then post the IMG link from there into your post :)
