War Thunder Xbox One

War Thunder is now available to play on Xbox One with the starter pack costing 15.99 in the Xbox Store.

Already there are over 27,000 players online and the game was only released this week.

You can choose to play your game with Air, Land or Sea options all available.

Playing as a pilot you will soon get the hang of how to fly but I would do the tutorials before going into battle.

I have only played as a pilot so far.

This is a vast game with a Campaign mode and randomly generated battles online including an arcade mode.

You start off with basic vehicles but these can be improved and improved upon by ranking up or by purchasing with in-game credits or actual cash better vehicles.

You can if you wish choose to play cross-platform which then allows you to play with the vast PC community that play the game.

This is a truly great game

There are now over 60,000 players on Xbox One and millions on the PC platform.

If you are on Xbox I would start playing with the Cross Platform setting turned off to start with as many PC players have been playing this game for years and the battles are much more intense with many more players taking part in them.

The Xbox community on this great game is growing by the day and it is estimated that there are 10 million players on PC and PS4.

War Thunder on PC is great, although it's all about the non-jet air battles for me, as many tank maps have firing locations that can be exploited by campers :-(

It is all about the flying for me and after much tweaking of the controller settings the planes handle pretty well and I have started to rack up some kills and have now progressed to a level 13 pilot by spending relatively little on in-game currency and premium aircraft and the free daily crates have some nice rewards as do the daily challenges if you can do them.
As you progress then so do your pilots as you can upgrade their skills and rank them up.
There is so much to do in this game.

I bought this and regret having done so. I've only played it once admittedly, so ought to give it another try.

On Xbox X with a 4k TV I am disappointed with the graphics and the wording in the game has that annoying "Chinese converted to English, not proof read by a native English speaker" vibe. I didn't really 'get' it (the game) I have to say.

Set up your controller by watching the PS4 controller set up video on Youtube as it is worth the effort and works well with the Xbox One flying experience.

Standard controller settings are way out and definitely need tweaking.

War Thunder is now free on the Xbox store and will now be playable with the mouse and keyboard controls on the console due to Microsoft now making the Xbox One mouse and keyboard compatible.

You can create your own custom missions which allows you to fine tune your settings and choose the skill level of either the AI or fellow players if you want to take it online.

War Thunder is a good single player game with a vast 2nd World War campaign mode taking in loads of battles.

As cross-play with the PC platform can be turned on there are a potential 20 million online players.

Many of these PC players have been playing War Thunder for many years and so they may be very experienced players using proper gaming rigs and control systems.

Xbox One players can also use game controllers on this game.
