Matt Jansen's autobiography

Matt Jansen's book comes out in a couple of week's time: What Was, What Is and What Might Have Been

I'm sure much of it will reflect on the aftermath of his accident, just as he was getting the international recognition he so deserved, but I'm really looking forward to see what he has to say about his time at Palace (and also his goal against us, in our vital win over Blackburn, when we were in administration).

He certainly seems to have a great affection for the club. Easily one of the most gifted players to have donned the red and blue. Those last few words of the book's title say everything, really.

Will forever be a legend after he turned down the wankers to sign for us :p

His second half performance at Villa Park remains one of the best individual performances I've ever seen from a Palace player.

My first Palace hero and for me surpasses Aj as best striker I’ve seen for Palace. A really sad end to his career such an intelligent player.

Hardly remember him, had to look him up , only 1 season 20 years ago .
Christ I’m getting old.

Remember that, it seemed like he could take us to another level.

Loved watching him, you always had the feeling he was about to do something special and usually did.

Matt Jansen and Mike Elwiss - both what was and might have been with Palace.

Mike Elwiss had the ability to become a great for Palace. Very sad for his career to end so early.

Some really nice comments from Matt Jansen about Palace in FourFourTwo magazine this month.
Said he stayed at Ron Noades' house and was looked after very well by him and his Novella. He and Ron played golf together after training.
Said he loved Palace and only moved on when the money dried up.
He was willing to move to Blackburn rather than possibly Juventus, Arsenal, Chelsea or Newcastle as they were prepared to pay the transfer fee upfront as he wanted to help Palace out.
Top lad.

Sleaky skills

He was really good on the recent Graham Hunter's Big Interview With... Seems as though Hunter was covering Palace a lot at the time MJ was here.
