Omfg lol you really don't know what you are on about. FWIW the 'breaks' actually make the game faster, not slower. Also soooooo many reasons you are completely wrong.

I just had the same discussion with my lodger so I put on 'Last Chance U' on Netflix and showed him a game, he's never even seen it before, but he was immediately convinced it's much faster and more violent than rugby. He's Welsh too.....

Mr 'I'm always right' Spindle

It certainly takes a lot of skill to be a highly paid sportsman and still look an absolute **** in whatever combo they choose to wear. 'Hmm, yellow trousers and that lovely brown tank top today or the checked pantaloons with a gorgeous orange polo?'

It's pretty obvious to anyone who has seen a game that gridiron is faster and hits are harder than rugby. Rugby's issue is that the fans don't like hearing it, they like to slag off other sports.

Tactically and skill wise gridiron wins too. Sorry. :p

Although there is form most golfers have quite stylish clothing. You get the odd tit. Of course you are referring to 70s clothes which were shit all round golf or not. :hi:

Grid iron is faster tbf.

4 hours to complete a 60 min game, where a bloke comes on to have a run, then rests for an hour, does help. As does turning a blind eye to all the drugs

The amount of protective items they wear in American football is ridiculous.

The toughest game of rugby league any where is State of Origin. Basically NSW play QLD. A few years back they took the game to LA or San Francisco can't remember which. Anyhow the Tanks interviewed at the game could not believe the speed and hardness of the tackle s without helmets or body armour.

When will Australians learn how to pronounce the word 'maroon'? One of my bugbears. And yet if they're talking about the band Maroon 5 they all of a sudden say it correctly.

[For those not in Aus, they say it as "maroan" and the QLD team wears maroon / is nicknamed the maroons, so you hear it ALL THE FECKIN' TIME when the State of Origin series is on.]

Yep. Rugby fans as boring as the game. Was told by some, repeatedly, about 15 years ago that it would be more popular than football in 10 years. That went well.

WTF has a drummer from the Isle of Wight got to do with Australian speech?
