When I look back on this event it used to get massive publicity for about three or four weeks in the papers ( and Pathe news), kids used to argue about, even the odd fight! Now it almost goes unnoticed.

Yes, I can remember taking sides at primary school, a long time ago. Still a great event though

I went to that once back in the sixties. The school organised a coach trip because one of our Old Boys was playing.

When it comes to events like the Boat Races, nowadays there is insufficient scandal or gossip for the media to focus on
