Great idea for the thread BTW bunghole

Thanks K
We should still have threads for 'big' series i.e Ashes, India v Pakistan etc, but it's also good to have a central one too. :) |

SA capitulating again
|
Wow - SA have actually stood up. 184 lead with one wicket remaining.
|
Should be a good 4th day. Either team can win
BTW - Nel is a masty peice of work, isnt he? Nothing specific, just a manner over the 2 tests. |

Gets a bit of the white line fever... |
Great win, marred by the loss of Umar Gul and Shoaib, meaning our bowling attack has gone from good to mediocre.
|
Excellent win by your blokes Klinx, after quite a gripping final day. :p
What about the crowd? For all the hoo ha about how passionate the Sth Africans are about their sport, they sure didn't show it with their turnout yersterday. |

Sweet lord. Gul - 14 tests, 61 wickets, average of 30 and falling Asif - 7 tests, 37 wickets, average of 21 Shoaib - 42 tests, 165 wickets at 25 Kaneria - 44 tests, 186 wickets at 33 (ok for a non-Warne leggie) Yep, very mediocre. And as for the "who" crew - Rana Naved, Shabbir Ahmed, Shahid Nazir, Rao Iftikar. 4 decent back up bowlers. Shabbir in particular - 10 tests, 51 wickets at 23. |
Lest we forget Shabbir and Shoaib should not be included for obvious reasons. I maintain that Pedro Martinez would have a very impressive average in test cricket if he were allowed to play.
An average of 33 is not acceptable for a non Warne leggie on sub continental pitches, Kumble doesn't even turn the ball and averages a damn site less than that. Rana averages 58 with the ball in test cricket. Shahid Nazir i assume you have included as a joke. As for Rao Iftikar, as I said above, who? Asif has looked very good and whilst he should have been banned for the drugs thing, i'll accept that he was stupid village kid (your words) and not hold it against him. Gul, when he is not injured he has looked decent (last test last summer), but when is he not injured btw. |
pakistan, yet another 2nd rate cricketing sump.
