I have to agree.

I felt against Spurs if we had scored one we'd score 3, just didn't score the one..:(

But it wasn't a foul. If that was a pen then there should be ten a game. The very same ref booked an everton player for diving in an almost identical challenge later.

I finally got a chance to watch it again and its a 100% nailed on penalty

Have a look at this video from 9 secs onwards, it isnt just a shoulder to shoulder challenge, jagielka actually sticks his leg across Milners path but doesnt make any contact with the ball.

You are right pen all day long

There was no trip, or any cobtact between the defenders and milners legs. It's a pen if side to side barging is a foul. Palace would never get that decision.

Palace got the Swansea pen against Chamakh

Personally I think it was poor defending, just stand up and jockey the attacker if you stick your leg out in the box then you are asking for trouble.

Im not going to argue anymore but I think anywhere else on the pitch a foul would be given so imo its a pen.

What did confuse me though was people talking about it like it was the worst decision they've ever seen when in actual fact it wasnt anything like it.

The Chanakh one was more debatable IMO.

Gooders 11-12-2014 09:57 PM

Just about a pen I guess, but very soft. Wouldn't have been a pen 10 years ago mind, maybe even 5.

The interesting thing for me about our penalty decisions is that it was Chamakh who won the most recent one for us. I think he knows how to go down and make a meal of a challenge more than Zaha or Campbell who had penalties denied.

Sadly referees are influenced by such things irrespective of the merits of the three incidents I mention.

I think it's part luck part confidence. Wilf seemed to be lacking confidence and had his head down a lot when not on the ball, looking generally disappointed with himself instead of his usual smiling self. I think during the games, particularly against Villa, we were so unlucky especially with the stuff we created.

We just need that luck.

AntiWenger 13-12-2014 11:40 PM

How did Alex Bruce get a booking for a perfect tackle taking the ball? Ridiculous.

TouchyAndalou 13-12-2014 11:46 PM

That Cahill dive. Jesus.

maestro 13-12-2014 11:46 PM

Chelsea players a disgrace

danpalace07 14-12-2014 12:10 AM

Is Pearson the most irritating manager in the league?

rhino_mik 14-12-2014 12:15 AM

Nice assist from Coppell there!

Yes 100%

TouchyAndalou 14-12-2014 12:41 AM

Definitely no penalty on Johnson there. Very, very soft.

maestro 14-12-2014 12:54 AM

Disgusting the amount of dives this week, cant remember it as bad as this for a long time.

True, but at least it was refreshing that refs are very slowly starting to punish people properly for it. Its just a shame Foy bottled it on the most important one.

'He aint that type of player' so obviously not a dive.

Though it was. Chelsea were a disgrace yesterday.

I honestly believe players should receive a retrospective ban of up to 5 games for simulation (cheating to give it its correct tag) as it needs to be cut out of the game.

It's a mourinho team, that is what they do.They cheat, they are dirty and he was just standing on the touchline laughing.I hate the petro cash being funneled into man city, but i still hope they beat chelsea to the title and pep guardiola, ancelloti,or barca stuff mourinho and his arseholes in the chumps league.
