Don't you remember the pen we got against Blackburn in the play off. One of the softest ever especially in light of the games magnitude and that was 20 years ago.

Tommy Black's against Walsall or Curcic v Watford were far, far worse. We've had our share of iffy pens over the years :D

For anyone who cannot remember Tommy's finest performance in a Palace shirt, it goes like this:

Tommy Black picks up the ball on the edge of the oppositions penalty area and dribbles a couple of yards forward. Runs into a Walsall player and throws himself to the ground.

Referee gives a penalty :clown:

We needed a result in that game to get us in the playoffs. Sent Walsall down too if I remember correctly.

I remember listening to the game on the way back from a trip down to Dorset. After that penalty, kind of knew then that it was going to our year.

It was soft but it came after two clear penalties the ref turned down, probably thought bugger it have to give it this time.

Today Burnley score a goal to get back in it at 2-1 against city which was offside, and end up with a point. Kind of ironic considering what happened to us last week against them.

thought the same.

Nothing is going our way.

Its about time we won a dodgy pen or something.

Lineker just hinted Pardew wasn't available for interview as he is favourite for the Palace job!

Admittedly McGoldrick went down easily but a fraction of a second before Colin Hendry went straight through the back of Brighty. I reckon the ref gave it for that challenge as much as any foul on McGoldrick.

Yep small margins.

Windsor_Eagle 28-12-2014 11:59 PM

Yet some people maintain that much has had nothing to do with our woes this season.

Buenley were superb to be fair, yes they had luck but they had 3 or 4 in the box and that makes things happen.

The hold up play by Barnes is what we are crying out for

True but they had chance after chance. Like we did last season against City actually.

This season we barely had a shot on target.

You still make your own luck.

1 shot on target. Last season Hart won Motm.

Windsor_Eagle 29-12-2014 12:33 AM

You make your own luck to an extent but a perfectly good goal ruled offside matched against their offside goal being given. Punch striking the post in the QPR and Spurs games when last season his strikes bounced in. These are the fine margins that are missing.

rhino_mik 29-12-2014 12:35 AM

I forgot Punch hit the post!
