Venezuela

https://theclarionmag.org/2019/01/24...elf-president/

I’ve got no time for the reactionary regime in power. But also got no time for what seems like a right wing coup evolving with support from Trump.

Hopefully workers can come together to oppose both.

Skintagain 24-01-2019 07:33 PM

I just knew it wouldn't be long for the commies to come along and condemn Guaidó. Power to the people and the murdering bastard communist gangsters.

Millions have fled Maduro and now democracy beings to rise in Venezuela, half the civilised world have already recognised him as the leader in the hope of a better future. Why not blindly follow the Momentum/Corbynista doctrine of suppressing the people.

Like it or not if Maduros army murder them all Momentum/Corbyn are supporters and now cheerleaders.

One bit of the hope of freedom in the world and socialism is in uproar.

Are you feeling ok?

I'm condemning both sides in this, neither of who have workers interests. Just because I don't like the regime (to put it mildly), doesn't mean I would support a Trump supported right wing coup. But of course those are exactly the kind of people you would cheer lead. Up the billionaires and alt-right for skinty.

Sorry, just a bit annoyed by the article, it tries to sit on the fence, as do you. Its entirely a Chavez/Maduro feck up, blaming the US is no more than an attempt to excuse them. The sooner he is gone the better.

Guaido is not right wing and if he doesn't get the army on side quickly which is unlikely, expect a bloody crack down.

Not backing a right wing Trump backed coup in no way implies support for the way the regime has oppressed people.

Guaido isnt right wing

The entire South American continent backs him

In Alternative-universes, Presidents Clinton, Sanders back Guaido too.

Not backing a coup implies you think the current government is better than the alternative.

You couldn't ask for better support.

He’d be more qualified than Trump

The US should probably take a back seat if they are able. There are international organisations who are harder to snipe at; they need to step in and run fair elections.

You've given this too much thought.

Yeap free elections needed, not a Trump backed coup.

Sanchez (the Spanish president) has said that if there aren't elections in 8 days or he'll recognise Guaido.

Heb 7:4 26-01-2019 01:25 PM

Russia has purportedly sent troops, in the form of Wagner private mercenaries, to support Maduro

https://www.abc.es/internacional/abc...3_noticia.html

I'm sure all the non-interventionist voices we've heard insisting the US shouldn't be getting involved will be equally loud about this.

Not only is he not right wing, his social democratic party Popoular Will is a sister party to the UK Labour Party. They're both part of Socialist International.

Just as I’m again it in Syria, I’m against it here. I’m also against US interference.

And the Labour Party when led by Tony Blair was right wing. What’s your point?

The socialist International isn’t socialist unless you’d missed that.
