Always had good vision and awareness but needed strength and a bit of confidence. He now seems to be getting those and looks like he could be the player we all hoped. Still not sure where his best position is but like others have said it would be good to see him in the middle.

Just wanted to say well played.

NickinOx 18-01-2020 06:08 PM

And we finally have some competition for the left back spot! That being said, I’d like to see him in midfield too.

old git 18-01-2020 06:10 PM

Very happy for him.

jaspercpfc 18-01-2020 06:11 PM

Well done JR. Still concerning that he would have been on the scrap heap had it not been for the recent spate of injuries.

Palace43 18-01-2020 06:16 PM

Deserves the plaudits!

So, I think Riedewald deserves to keep his place when the injuries are back. But where does he play? Do we bring back PVA and get Riedewald in midfield? Or do we drop PVA?

CharlieCPFC 18-01-2020 06:18 PM

He’s made for that holding midfield role when PVA comes back. Reads the game well and so calm and composed on the ball.

Places in midfield are going to be hard to come by. The 3 match ban for Luka has allowed McCarthy in and he has done well, Schlupp also on the way back too

bodger 18-01-2020 06:19 PM

Well we have found a player and he keeps his place in my book until he loses form.

Looking forward to the return of Jeff

He is made for the left side of a double pivot.

If the midfield 3 put in another performance against Southampton it's going to be infuriating to see Luka walk back in if he does.

MFBias 18-01-2020 06:33 PM

We all know Milivojevic will walk back in for Hodgson, even though he needs to be dropped. I hope I surprised. I think he needs to reset and try and win his place back. We have better captains than him.

Nostrils 18-01-2020 06:39 PM

How long is there left on his contract? He's been with us a while now.

Is this ballroom dancing?
Not being funny what does that mean? In football terms? Maybe am exposing myself to ridicule but no idea what this term means.

I am 52.

No you are not allowed to say that. Roy is a seer and guru and this cult means you cannot criticise Roy for only ‘discovering’ a player - even trying him - after 18 months plus at the club.

This! Stick him in a midfield 3 as he is better on the ball than all of them!

dan27 18-01-2020 07:14 PM

Would love to see him in midfield.

hughff 18-01-2020 07:30 PM

Look back on this thread. It's amazing the vitriol JR received and now people are saying we should drop Luka for him. This is why we are fans not pros.
