Apparently he's also had some illness and personal problems of late.

It's good to see firstly Riedewald at long last being given his chance with regular gametime and in doing so will only get better, especially if played in a position(central midfield) that suits his game best, and not as a LB.
His promotion has given us the bonus option of having a natural replacement for the current out of touch Luka, who make no mistake will be back to form as he is still a quality player.

2022. Plenty of time for him to take the next step and truly establish himself as a starter.

Was excellent again yesterday. He’s getting better and better!

As has been mentioned many many times on this thread, it's 2022

Jairo's passing really is a joy - even simple passes he puts perfectly in the right space, or a little bit of spin or backlift to help the receiver carry it through. Must be one reason why the other players seem to love him.

Often at the heart of the defence and midfield recycling the ball, playing little triangles through the opposition and up the park. Quick thinking in tight spaces.

He's come a long way and will still improve - I'd like to see him switched on for the full 90 more often - but it's very encouraging. Roy obviously wants to give his coaching staff credit, too.

I agree and think Jairo looks a different player now than he did 18 months ago. More mature, reliable and ready to contribute every week.

Good to see these investments come to fruition.

Might be worth pointing that out to Roy, who was still bemoaning the loss of Luka to his red card. Suspect he would have started had he been available to Roy, but you'd like to think the management may notice a bit more that we often do pretty well without him.

Awesome player. The only and major positive from the Frank De Boer reign!

spt1978 08-11-2020 10:45 AM

What a bonus his emergence is this season.

Very good performance. Although I think he sometimes loses players. There were gaps between midfield and defence... Bamfords disallowed goal - Leeds players had time to get his head up, see Bamfords run and pick a pass... There were also a few occasions Vs Wolves where players were able to drop off and find space

We play with 2 midfielders. They play with 3. Do you see the problem?

That doesn’t surprise me. You can see it in his whole demeanour. He’s going through something. Hope whatever it is he pulls through it soon as he’s not only been a good player for us but always comes across as a nice bloke.

I thought AWB made his debut under Hodgson? Maybe wrong though.

Lets celebrate Jairo's good form as a welcome addition to the overall strength of the squad rather than turn it into an anti Luka thing.

Yeah some of the comments about Luka are ridiculous, ok he's not been playing particularly well recently but there's been plenty of time when he's been our best player.

Anyway I like JR a lot and it was refreshing to see him and Eze starting yesterday.
