Agree, I was beginning to wonder if people were watching the same incident as me :D

I don't care if it wasn't a pen, we got it and we won the game. It's about time we had some luck with refs

Gotta agree with this but see there's a differing of opinion so specsavers could do a roaring trade on one group or the other. It may include me but as you say I thought Chamakh clearly played the ball first then got taken down before it's touched the keepers foot.

Villa were shocking today, particularly considering the opponents

anti-addick 08-02-2014 11:52 PM

It was a stonewall penno. If you disagree then you must be some sort of twat.
Enjoyed Cardiff torn to bits but not happy with WHU. Nolan is as big a wanker as Allerdyce

MasterYoda 08-02-2014 11:52 PM

They gave us some great plaudits today. Can't complain with that much coverage every week

maestro 08-02-2014 11:55 PM

Stoke are annoying, I had them to be one of the teams to go down, they were bloody awful against us and had been for a while but since then theyve beaten Man utd and drew with Saints!

David of Kent 08-02-2014 11:55 PM

Bloody hell Wes Brown. Great work fella

Eh wtf?

It shouldn't have been a pen. Chamakh touches it but then the keeper gets a touch too before taking him down.

strange editorial decision to not include Murray's entrance onto the pitch. It would have taken 10 seconds and added some nice colour to a real story.

Hate Villa. If we need them to do us a favour and beat one of our competitors, you can guarantee they will roll over.

They will probably get dragged into the relegation fight but avoid the drop because of a few freak results at the end of the season like they always seem to. Gutless wankers, really hope they go down this year.

alanlee11 08-02-2014 11:59 PM

...also looks like about 20 Stoke fans at Southampton it looks like, terrible turnout from them

Terrace Bickle 09-02-2014 12:09 AM

I thought that initially, but there were a few hundred. The camera angle was misleading, it showed the stand in full at the end.

eddieskyclad 09-02-2014 12:20 AM

It's difficult to see from the angle that was shown in the replay however check the camera in real time. Chamakh clearly plays the ball with the outside of his foot to round the keeper.

His tackles have been awful this season, very lucky not be sent off most weeks!

eddieskyclad 09-02-2014 12:25 AM

Actually it's clear from all angles that Chamakh touches it away with his left foot onto the keepers leg. Andy Gray and Richard Keys thought it was a penalty, not one of the MOTD commentators even questioned it... It's a penalty. End of.

Nobody disputes that

So two quick screens from a rubbish source... Chamakh's foot clearly touches the ball away in the first one and you can see an orange blur which is the keepers foot lunging in for the ball.

In the other screen literally a frame later. Chamakh's leg has been taken away by the keeper who's leg has then touched the ball that Chamakh played onto it. Had the keeper made the real contact the ball would have traveled out of the penalty box toward the direction of the halfway line. However Cham played the ball onto the keepers leg almost and so it went the direction he was traveling and ended up with the corner flag.

Surely it's cut and dry.

But hey we won. Who cares?
