Apparently injured and only confirmed he could play after the warm up but had to stop at half time.

Not sure he did too much wrong technically, just not a left back. We had way more space for Brighton there when jimmy took over but Brighton failed to take advantage and went to the other side far more often. Bizzare, even after the goal came down our left they really didnít take advantage of the gargantuan space we afforded them.

Think in terms of assessing Jairo this was a neutral. Neither good nor bad. Problem for him is he needed good as his chances are limited

I’d rather we play him over Luka, in the form he’s in.
Did a job but you could tell he was struggling with an injury.

I also thought he was doing Ok and was surprised he came off. Made some good tackles, and blocks, some decent passes and also got forward a couple of times. Not helped by how slow our midfield was (only Macca got forward or really challenged anyone) and Benteke first half was jogging around, 'sort of' closing down players but actually giving them the time to do just what they wanted. Wilf was in no-mans land in the first half.

I thought he was poor yesterday, after being impressed with him against Watford. Though as you have alluded to, he didn't get much help from Zaha or the midfield.

In general they have been very good but were poor yesterday.

They were also poor against Watford and only really come into their own against top teams, where the onus is on defending. They have a grand total of zero goals between them from open play all season so it's about time at least one of them is dropped

As one of his biggest critics I will give him a lot of credit today for that superb block. Brave too which is one of the things I've not seen from him enough in the past.

Looked a totally different player today. That block was as good as a goal.

What a block. Saved the points.

thomasbroad 26-12-2019 05:07 PM

Much improved.
Whether that's because he's not injured!

Fantastic block.

Match saving, that turned into a match winning, block

cappuccinoeagle 26-12-2019 05:11 PM

Great block,and useful going forward.

CharlieCPFC 26-12-2019 05:12 PM

He's actually a very intelligent player, his decision making with the ball is up there. I feel he just needs a run of games, hopefully this injury crisis will give him that.

Drop luka. Needs to be captain.

I thought he did very well when he came on. He looks better defensively than PVA.

filharvey 26-12-2019 05:19 PM

Starting to definitely like him. Is he fully fit, as commentator mentioned he may have come back early.

st albans 26-12-2019 05:21 PM

What a tackle

Kai 26-12-2019 05:35 PM

Was the difference between 0 and 3 points today - looked great and that block was wonderful
