Which band or singer have you listened to most?

Not necessarily who is your favourite band or singer, but who have you listened to most over your lifetime?

I’m going for The Charlatans

Queens of the stone age.

ExiledStirling 25-01-2019 07:54 PM

Probably Madness.. Certainly at the moment they are the ones

NickP 25-01-2019 08:19 PM

Jagger and the Stones, probably.

Olympian2 25-01-2019 09:49 PM

One of Big Country, REM, Depeche Mode or Gene

There's five bands I have consistently gone back to over the last 25- 30 years...

Smiths
Dead Kennedys
The Fall
Pixies
Pavement

If I have to pick one artist though that would be Bowie.

Same I think. Beatles, Led Zepp and Metallica probably fairly close behind.

A draw between Bowie the 69-80 one and Simple Minds the 1979-1982 one.

Harry Bassett 26-01-2019 07:25 PM

London Symphony Orchestra

I'd have thought your favourites are the ones you'd listen to most, hence they're (probably) your favourites? Certainly the case with me. I'm a synth-head first and foremost, and since I started getting into music at the start of the '80s, both my favourites and the ones I've undoubtedly listened to most often since then are Yazoo, Depeche Mode, Human League, Heaven 17, Erasure and Kraftwerk. Then at the start of the 90s one other band was added to that list: Client.

As far as "not favourites but I [still!] listen to them a lot because I like them" is concerned, I'd probably say Abba, Gary Numan, Madonna, Eurythmics.

I don't think that it is necessary for me to answer this one!

loz 29-01-2019 08:41 AM

The Mob
Zounds,
Buzzcocks
POG...A Brighton band who I find absolutely brilliant, sort of Beautiful south, folk punk rock.

NateEagle 29-01-2019 08:43 AM

Smashing Pumpkins
The Maccabees

Maidstoned Eagle 29-01-2019 12:20 PM

Bucks Fizz
Dana
New Seekers

I think thatís why I find it interesting. My favourite band is New Order, but over the years Iíve listened to The Charlatans more.
