I’d love for us to give him Jairo a run in midfield now. If he could nail down a spot there, he’d just offer a touch of class and composure that no one else in that position can. Even McArthur, who I love, but you’d think he was Iniesta the way the BBS bangs on about his technique.

It was good to see him on the left linking with Wilf and PVA. In the second half he seemed to be moving more to the right which I thought was waste. I’d be interested to see him and Meyer in the midfield three along with one of the water carriers (my preference would be Kouyate). That might be a bit adventurous away to Chelsea but the villa game would be ideal. We need to start getting some passes made for Wilf to run onto, he looks completely bored.

Not sure about the injury prone - not noticed him being off for long spells has he? It sounded more as if he had turned his ankle in training and it was a niggling injury and taking him off was likely precautionary. These days the docs rule the roost on things like t his which makes sense.

Not sure we would notice the difference TBH. He has had plenty of chances to show us something. I love the way that the odd player gets all of the excuses in the book and others get hammered. The less often they play the better they get. Jairo has offered more in his cameos wherever he has been played.
