Recently watched outlander, enjoyed that looking forward to series three. Turn is also good. Outlander is about time travel and Scots rebellion in 1745,lots of sex and sado sex. Turn is about a spy ring during American war of independence. Both on prime.
|
Fleabag is quite a laugh if you don't mind middle class people and are totally amoral
I think the opening scene is our heroine being caught by her boyfriend wanking to a video of Barak Obama. |
I'm sure it's been mentioned on here before but me and the wife have finally started getting stuck in to True Detective on the old catch up thing.
Slow burning and utterly absorbing. We watched episode 4 last night which culminated in a stunning scene of urban chaos. |
I recommend"The Survivors" spooky and riveting
|
May have been mentioned, not trawling through 36 pages to find out: Lillyhammer.
|
Or the invaders

My favourite comedy of last year. |
Anyone else watched The O.A.? What the ****, not sure if its very clever or some sort of faux spiritualist claptrap.
|
and since you asked my 93 yrs old mum still recommends emerdale farm (when seth was in it http://emmerdale.wikia.com/wiki/Seth_Armstrong)
|
Master of None on Netflix. Very funny and enjoyable show. Season 2 out tomorrow!
|
American Gods has made a good start. Only 2 episodes in so far
|
**** me The O.A. was crap
|
New Veep is brilliant
Wicked City is appalling and rightly cancelled Blue Bloods remains the best bad show on TV. |

Magic City on sky box sets is decent . Story of a Hotel in Florida in the 60's . If you like gangsters , pretty women sex and murders this ones a must .
Was off work a while back and watched (for the second time) another box set , Strike Back (4 series) , the story's of a covert British military team doing the dirty work that needs doing , very good . |

The Sniffer :)
Ukrainian crime series finds Rodney Trotter solving cases using his extraordinary sense of smell. I didn't think much of it, but had to check it out. Can be found on Netflix. |

Very good |
I know it's an old series but I had never seen it before but Monkey Dust is like an animated Monty Python. It's making me chuckle.
|
Three Girls has been extremely well acted. Terrible, harrowing story though. Apparently the trial has been toned down, if so it's disgraceful what they were put through.
|
I'm really enjoying catching up on Inside No 9, written and starring Steve Pemberton & Reece Shearsmith of League Of Gentleman, sort of like Tales Of The Unexpected each is a standalone 30 min episode often with some fairly famous guest stars..........its black comedy mixed with elements of thriller /horror and is nicely macabre. Some episodes are better than others but on the whole much recommended.

Oh and Gillian Anderson as Lucllie Ball, that was really good.

The number of posts on this thread are making me look like a proper telly addict :o.
Hap and Leonard on Amazon. Nearly didn't bother, but saw that James Purfoy and Omar from The Wire were in it, so gave it a go. After a slow start, it builds into quite an edgy action packed (violent) series. The second season (there's only six episodes both) is even better, changing the format slightly, but never losing the wit, charm or character developement of the first season. Excellent performances and a storyline taken from the novels of Joe. R. Lansdale, who I'd never heard of, but will definitely check out now. Highly recommend this, only 7.4 on IMDB, but I think it was based only upon the first few episodes (as somebody on there pointed out). |
White gold isnt bad.

Riviera just start on sky, 3 episodes in and seems quite promising. Julia Stiles is excellent in it as is Adrian Lester
|
I've been enjoying task master. It's ended now. Don't know what the next series is going to be like not heard of most of the comedian contestants.
|
Vikings
Good stuff. Just coming to the end of season 4. |
Good shout for Hap and Leonard. Thanks.
Leonard is brilliant, so deadpan. |

I work on a 4 4 off basis and started watching Orange is the new Black, does that make me a wrong un?
|
I'm being forced by the grandkids to watch Henry danger over and over again. It's good stuff though.
|
Just watched the plastic whale on Sky Atlantic, very thought provoking. I've been trying to avoid all plastics as much as possible for years, this has re-energised me to try even further.
|
Loving Count Arthur Strong. 'Archimedes in the bath having his urethra moment' :lux:

GLOW is just out on Netflix and it's really worth a watch.
Most of the attention it got beforehand was Alison Brie gets her boobs out. The bad news on that front is there's a couple of scenes in the first episode then no more. It's based on the real TV show/Event Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling in from the early 90's, a really trashy women's equivalent of the WWF. And it's from the creator of Weeds & Orange is the new Black A big selling point to me is 30 min episodes. I'm not a fan of long shows unless they are particularly good and I was happy to fly through the 10 episodes of this in less than a day. |
GLOW (Netflix) - a bit cheesy, funny and entertaining. Also, Alison Brie gets her bristols out. What more do you want?
|
American Anarchist on Netflix.
An interview with William Powell, author of the infamous 'The Anarchist Cookbook'. Although I knew what it was (never read it) I was interested to find out what it's creator was all about. Worth a watch if you like that sort of thing. |
Recommend a TV programme
Fargo series 3 is fully up to speed now, took about three episodes to build up steam. Thewlis is excellent.
Surprisingly, mensturation themed in places. OK then. |
Banshee is worth a look if you like soft porn inter mixed with blood gore and violence and a bit more soft porn. Somewhat similar to game of thrones but not walking dead as walking dead sent have soft porn

2 episodes into The Leftovers and I can tell this will be great already. Love the lack of exposition that lesser shows would have used to explain the GR, give clues as to what happened to the 2% etc
|
Half way through Glow and it's great. Treats the art form with respect too. Plus i'm a sucker for the wrestler cameos.
|
The sinner
Episode 1 of an 8 part series just aired in the states Jessica Biel stars as a seemingly everyday housewife who commits a vicious random murder while at the beach with her husband and son and the fallout afterwards. Bill Pullman plays the detective who tries to work out why she did it. So impressed with it so far |
Been away, so catching up on stuff. Top of the Lake is very good.

Billions
|
Billions is great, Ozarks is very promising, and love Last Chance U
|
I know it's been mentioned already, but I blitzed through "13 Reasons Why" across about 5 evenings last week - a very moving and emotional ride that deals with a lot of difficult issues amongst young people.
Rick and Morty is absolutely hysterical for lighter watching. That's on Netflix. |
Too of the lake is good and then series two both on I player
|
Fearless on ITV. I usually give anything on 3 a wide berth these days, either through snobbery or simply because most of their content is sh!t, but gave this a go upon recommendation. It's far fetched for sure, but if you can ignore that, you'll enjoy a gripping show held together by Helen McCrory (who's a fine actress imo).
|
Midnight Sun is a good scandi crime drama abailable on Sky.
Love Line of Duty, but only discovered it on Netflix revently, so annoying that series 3 is not on the UK site yet after watching the first couple of episodes on Netflix Italy at the end of our holiday. |
Ill behaviour on bbc iplayer. Quite decent

Sounds like a comedy. |
Snowfall (FX) is decent. A drama on the rise of crack in LA back in the day following a few main characters - a 19 year old who gets into dealing coke, a CIA agent who believes he's fighting communism by helping pro US rebels in South America get weapons and bringing coke into the US and a wrestler who starts working with the son of some cartel boss or something and his cousin. The problem is the kid's (Franklin) scenes are so good that it's hard to care about the other two
worth a watch |

El Marginal - Netflix
Argentinian prison drama. Three episodes in, very good so far. The OA - Netflix After-life stuff which I really liked but can imagine some won't stay the 8 one hour episodes. |
Animal Kingdom on Amazon Prime. Sopranos with surfboards set in California. well worth a watch.
|
Atypical on netflix, about a young lad in high school with autism. Abit overplayed with the he takes everything literally bit , however still good.
