Seems to be an awful lot of falling over

Our first medal is coming in Takewando. Watched the semi final and the rules are bonkers.

Was skeptical at first (mainly because every skater I've met has been a grade A twat) but skateboarding is an entertaining televised sport. Am looking forward to sports climbing another debut sport as well. Both of them are more of a sport than yachting anyway.

Watching the 3x3 basketball, what a weird version of basketball. I'm also wondering where they found these guys because it looks like a game you'd find in a local church parking lot.

Woke up to the Adam Peaty Gold news which is great. Talking of defending previous Olympic golds currently watching Denmarks second match in the Handball so far, defending theirs. Egypt have actually been pretty good in recent years, have allot of large players and a pretty physical rough house play style but can still mix it up skills wise.

So gold in sitting down, lying down and falling down events :lux:

Just watched the Mens Skeet. USA (Gold) DK (Silver) Kuwait (Bronze) - the DK guy member of our local shooting club apparently. USA guy was unreal, set a new Olympic record of 59/60

Anyone seen Adam Peaty’s interview after the race. Absolute legend! The raw emotion he drops 2 f bombs! Brilliant!

I read an article by a guy that was reporting on a previous Olympics. He was wandering around one day and went to check out the Team Handball. He knew nothing about it previously and was shocked to find out the US had not even qualified and then found out that they had lost every match in qualifying. He wrote something like, "How can the USA be so bad at a game that involves running, jumping and throwing?"

Quite an emotional watch.

I don't understand these rugby rules. When a guy gets tackled, what determines whether the defense can grab the ball and when they have to just let it sit there? It seems random.

Alex Yee the silver medalist in the triathlon is a Palace fan :lux:

That was some unreal shooting. My best is 44/60 which is no where near the Olympic standard dare I say :)

All of a sudden, I'm able to watch the NHK streaming site. I decided to watch some basketball and they asked me if I wanted Robot Commentary. Turns out that it is just a computerized text-to-speech that recites the play-by-play text that's entered.
