Tour De France 2019

Saturday 6 July sees the start of this year's Tour de France, one of the most open in years in the absence of Chris Froome and Tom Dumoulin.

Also sadly missing again this year is the Velogames fantasy tournament - withdrawn for fear of legal action from the tour's organisers wishing to push their own fantasy league.

Rather than switch to the Tour's league, we're running our own small competition - see the next post for details.

You can read Cyclingnews' round up of this years tour from here including full route and rider details here: http://www.cyclingnews.com/tour-de-france/

And watch GCN's preview show here

3) Predict the Polkadot Jersey Winner (10pts)
4) Predict the White Jersey (best young rider) winner (10 pts)
5) Predict the winner of the team competition (10 pts)

- Stage 1-10 deadline 11am Sat 6 July

I've got an idea for some picks but stages 1-10 will need some studying.:D

Does that one allow a lot of in game transfers?

The TdF one this year you need credits to make transfers, the way to increase credits is to stick it on Facebook and invite friends to join or to email your friends to join.

Simple concept of fantsay cycling bastardised for commercialisation.

No idea - I just noticed it whilst looking at the road.cc website.

I am afraid I am being a scab and have entered my team 'I Prefer Velogames' in the official game.

That's how all the cool kids will be spending Friday night evening.

So you enter your team tonight and it goes public or you enter your team at the last minute or you oversleep and miss the deadline. Or am I missing something?

That's how it is. A straightforward choice between white knuckled brinkmanship and accepting it's just a bloody game.

kabbott 05-07-2019 05:49 PM

Which is why nobody has put their team up ... yet! :D

Having to pick just one rider per stage is nigh on impossible. Plus there are a few lumpy ones which could be won by a "puncheur", a breakaway rider or even one of the GC boys.
