24th biggest turnover club in the world!

As Steve Parish alluded to in his recent pod (https://twitter.com/blankpod?lang=en), we're now 24th in the table of biggest turn over in the world. I know we often look back and say 'look where we were then', but this really hits home how far we have come in the last decade as a club.

Here are some links and the report.

When you think there are 32 teams in the Champions League group stages alone, then 24th in the world is pretty amazing and does make you pinch yourself at how far we have come.

My next thought however is...we still haven’t won anything :sob:

And yet we still managed to make a £36 million loss , typical Palace .

Made a few bob from the TV deal. All 20 clubs received an equal share of around £34.4m, as well as getting £43.2m each for international TV and a further £5m in central commercial revenue.

You don't think investment in the playing squad has something to do with that?

What investment is that? If you add up all the transfers in the last 2 windows it doesn't come close to 35. And you know all the payments are spread out over the term of the contract, so in reality the club probably spent less than 10m. All the money is being wasted on inflated salaries.

Salaries don't count as investment in the playing squad?

The amortisation costs of the players bought over the past 4 years must be high though? Sakho, Benteke, Luca, Schlupp, PVA, Guieta, Wilf, Andros, Kouyate, Sorloth, Tomkins all £10m plus and where the player was free they would be on high wages - Meyer.

You can really see the bias in all of that. 19 games for Newcastle - zero justification for that. They even showed the seaweed once more than us, bus parking anti-football shite stinking out the league.

Brighton fans will again be crying in to their needlework, crochet, flower arranging, home made jams and minute writing for the the local croquet association.

Well, yes. But it says a lot that our income is only £14M less than Napoli, we basically have to overpay to get anyone to stick around.

Mental that we’re not million miles away from AC Milan who let’s face it are superclub.

WestHam are target for us we won’t them relegated. Have more money than us and also have London attraction thing.

******* Brighton just behind. Need them down next year.

So you don't think investment in salaries has resulted in our turnover being what it is?

Our wages are too high for our income and final league position, imo of course. That is what i am saying. Having any players earning over 100k a week is just crazy and we have 3 or 4 of them.

Not true surely!?

Zaha, Benteke and who else? Please name them.
