I've also got one of these - Japanese mid 90's, again this one isn't mine (or Sheryl Crow's)

This was my first guitar. I worked over the school holidays with my Dad ( a ceiling fixer) and saved up £35 for it.

Wish I still had it

http://www.mylespaul.com/forums/memb...banez-st50.jpgThen I bought an unremarkable Les Paul Copy, but in around 1979, I bought one of these. An Ibanez ST50. I traded it in against the Les Paul, but again, wish I'd kept it.

Then I bought one of these - it's a Maya ES175 copy. I had no idea how good it was. Again it went px towards the Les Paul. I think this is the one I miss the most

Quite a collection over the years there Tim. You have the Les Paul currently?

Tim of the 80's 20-06-2015 03:28 PM

Yep, got the les Paul and the tele. I plan to pass them on to my boys eventually.

Ever thought about buying a guitar from eBay? Loads of bargins on there. Can even get a Gibson Les Paul standard for the same price as an epiphone.

of course. Thinking about another semi, gretsch or a duesenberg

Does anyone know anything about Banjos?

Tim of the 80's 26-06-2015 02:15 PM

A few years ago I bought a banjo for my youngest son from Hobgoblin in Crawley. That branch has closed, but the manager, Nobby, has moved to the Brighton shop. I thought he was a particularly good, helpful bloke for someone like me who knew very little.

Nice. Mind you don't have someone's eye out with that!

carlito 26-06-2015 07:46 PM

Nice guitar mate! Reminds me of Marty Freidman/Dave Mustaine type riffage!

CPFC_Fan 27-06-2015 07:01 PM

Thanks guys! Really need to get my pedal set up properly for the new Marshall I got. At the moment the sound is about halfway there for me. As soon as I get the right sound I am gonna be the happiest bloke on the BBS!

CPFC_Fan 27-06-2015 10:36 PM

I finally have a half decent sound coming from the pedal and amp and tested out the new Jackson. HOLY SHlT! It's bloody insane. It's raw yet eerily smooth. To all you guitarist out there on the BBS I seriously urge you to guy a Jackson RR1 if you can or at least test it out. The feel of the fretboard and how you can move your fingers over it is just awesome!

Just seen this on ebay....

That's one awesome bit of paintwork on it too! Seriously you will not regret it!

Hi all. It's the summer so I thought I'd treat myself to another new guitar. I was looking around for an ESP USA Tea Sunburst with EMG's but there were none anywhere! So go in contact with a dealer in America and I had to concede that I would have to place an order on one. So I placed a deposit down and now I am on the list to get the next batch of guitars from the ESP USA luthier's, and with a decent discount at that! So excited! It's a full bodied ESP so will give me that nice clean classic American style playing of guitar.

But in my looking around for that guitar I stumbled across another ESP that looked pretty damn good to me. Was on a Japanese website and it's an ESP Horizon Custom. Couldn't believe my eyes that it was an ACTUAL custom made ESP. And the price was astonishing considering what the guitar was so I sorted out the details with the Japanese dealer this morning and went ahead and bought it.

I am so glad the internet and world wide web was invented so that we can all have a good shop around and find gems like these! :D
