I'm amazed anyone bothers buying guitars anymore. There's a very good reason why old people only play the blues. It's because it's improvised, so they can fall back on the same old crap they've rehearsed a thousand times before.

How I long for my youth when I could learn all four guitar parts on one of those 'off the record' sheet music books that used to cost a fortune. Sadly, music isn't recorded like that anymore, and if I bothered to commit a really intricate guitar piece to memory, one hard drinking session would probably undo it all.

As for the thread, I don't own a digital camera so can't show you my (shitty) guitar.

LOL I love this

Can post some more pics if any interest

I saw these on thefretboard forum yesterday. Didn't know you are a palace fan also! Really love the Jackson Custom shop you have. How does it play compared to a conventional SL2H?

bloodfart 02-09-2015 10:19 AM

It feels quite different - it has early soloist specs, the neck angle feels more tilted back and the non recessed floyd takes a bit of getting used to. Sounds unreal, but to be honest I haven't played it so much recently as I prefer the neck on the Jems

I keep gassing for a Feline guitar these days. You tried them out?

CPFC_Fan 02-09-2015 11:34 AM

Haven't tried out the Felines no even though they are only a 20 min walk away from me or so. I might have to take in my blue ESP for a set up by them though so I could ask for a little play on their guitars. But I do have 1 last guitar incoming from the states which is most likely every bit as good, perhaps maybe better, than a Feline.

Salad_Burnet 02-09-2015 11:14 PM

Only revisited this thread because someone gave me some rep for a post.

I paid a visit to Felines a couple of years ago to get my accoustic set up right. They did a good job and all that, and after I showed an interest, they showed me around their warehouse. I know it sounds awful, but for all their pitch about how such-and-such a well known artist used their guitars, I just couldn't (and still can't) get beyond how only Gibson and Fender are the real deal, all others being imitations.

I'd sooner play a crap guitar with Gibson emblazened on it, than a really good one with an obscure name or logo on it. Shallow, I know.

Negged for insisting on using a left-handed guitar more like.

(And I was drunk last night).

Is Salad Burnet trying to be funny or is he an idiot?

I've come to the conclusion that it's a bit of both.

I repped everyone on this page for being left handed. Why not?

bloodfart 09-09-2015 07:22 AM

Anyone know of a good place locally who fix amps? My Mesa Boogie has died!

CPFC_Fan 13-09-2015 02:50 PM

My Telecaster family is complete :-)

72 thinline , a 77 custom and a newish Baja

hughff 04-10-2015 10:39 PM

I'm just in the process of bajaising my Chender Tele. (Does that make sense?)

I've got the four way switch and a push-pull pot to reverse the polarity. I'm just waiting on my mate to get back from his holiday so that I can borrow his fret files (typical Chender frets.)

Obviously it won't be the same quality as a true Baja but then I'm not a quality player either.
