Exclusive: Palace set to snare Everton striker James Vaughan on loan
Wednesday, September 08, 2010, 12:31By Daniel Jones
PALACE boss George Burley is on the verge of completing a loan switch for Everton striker James Vaughan.
The Eagles chief has been in discussions with Everton boss David Moyes and expects to tie up the deal later today or tomorrow morning.
We think James is a very good player and we are hoping to finalise the move today or tomorrow, Burley told the Advertiser.
Its no secret we have been looking for a striker and I think James could be the answer. He will be the final player we bring in, after this deal we will work with what weve got.

Sounds good :)

Would be a very good signing if he can keep fit.

Scored his first ever goal against us, didn't he?

Yes, becoming the youngest ever Premier League scorer (at the time,) I believe.

Isn't it great that two BBS'ers are so, on the ball. :)

Would be pleased with this. Competition for places, all across the squad.

By George good work

Asagaya_Eagle 08-09-2010 12:01 PM

Good player, by all accounts. Bring it on!!!!!

GeeTee 08-09-2010 12:02 PM

Bloody good news.

Webb 08-09-2010 12:02 PM

Good times.

Is he still the youngest goalscorer ever in the Premier League, thanks to his goal against us in 2005?

webbo1990 08-09-2010 12:03 PM

Good bit of sweaty sock liaising going on there, between GB and DM (David Moyes, not Danger Mouse).

Clapham Grand 08-09-2010 12:04 PM

Hugely injury-prone mind

Am sure he scored on his debut against us for Everton and that 4-0 drubbing?

stinky 08-09-2010 12:04 PM

BOSH!

I thought Milner has this title, but it may have been before Vaughn.

Heb 7:4 08-09-2010 12:05 PM

Blimey. I'll wait to celebrate till it's confirmed, but I'd be very happy with this

thehalifaxman 08-09-2010 12:06 PM

this better be true otherwise sportcroydon has employed Harry Monk

Lords Eagle 08-09-2010 12:06 PM

Not a great scoring record for a striker and not played many games considering he's 22, however maybe Burley can transform him.
