It was a record at the time but it was usurped by a dreadful Stoke team just a few seasons later.

In the premier League era (four games fewer of course) Sunderland and then Derby 'improved' the benchmark.

Ipswich at home was my second game as a 7 year old, the first being a very solid 2-0 home win against a good Aston Villa side a couple of weeks earlier. I still have pretty vivid memories of my experience that day.
