Palace U18's 3 Chelsea U18's 1

An excellent performance by the Palace youth to beat Chelsea 3-1 at home in the league this morning.
Team was (apologies for spelling errors):
GK K.Thorpe
RB M.Abnett
LB H.Adelakun
CB1 Jack ?
CB2 J.Neuwani
RM K.Cadogan
LM K.Dijalli
CM1 R.Carolan
CM2 J.Comley
SS J.Smith
CF N.Pinney
Jerson Dos Santos came on as sub in 80th minute.

Fairly even 1st 25 mins that Palace shaded. Then on 27 mins, great work wide right by Pinney who crossed for Smith to side foot home from 6 yards. 30 seconds later, long range effort by Comley narrowly wide. 30 seconds after that Chels hit same post twice in same attack! Then a minute later, Carolan smashed one into top corner from 25 yards.

Palace on top for rest of 1st half and fully deserved 2-0 HT lead.

Chels started 2nd half well and had a 10 minute spell when on top. Their CF scored a nice goal in 52 minute which went in off post. But 5 minutes later, a cleverly disguised pass by Comley found Cadogan in the area who cut inside final defender and side footed home from 10 yards.

Palace generally comfortable after that and could have extended lead from some set pieces.

An excellent performance in every player did well. One of their best of the season (Chels won 3-2 away at ManU in FA youth cup midweek). Abnett and Smith were the stand out performers but Pinney also did well for the first 80 minutes before not being as happy when stuck out wide for last 10 mins after Dos Santos came on.

The win helps cement Palace in 2nd place in the league (behind Arsenal).

Well worth grabbing a game when you can as they try and play decent football.

I believe the U16's lost 3-0 to Chels on the next pitch.
