What's his preferred position? Looked like a right sided attacking midfielder in today's cameo.

Centre Mid.

Great to see him come on, thought he looked promising in a friendly against Fulham 3 seasons ago. Shame injuries have kept him sidelined. Promising

Reminded me of AWB's debut, albeit under very different circumstances, in that Dreher seemed instantly to act like he belonged there. A major positive from the game, as well as seeing Meyer really start to pull a few strings.

Looked at home, and very comfortable on the ball
Hope he can remain fit and continue his progress

Remember seeing him come on against Valencis for a brief cameo in a pre season game a few years ago and even then he looked comfortable on the ball and looking for it.

With a full pre-season with the first team, he'll get his chances next season.
Good luck, Luke! |

It wasn’t announced during pre game but Kouyate pulled out of the game during the warm-up and Nikola Tavares was also on the bench today

Hope the injury nightmares are behind him, as I get the same gut feeling about he as I did when I first saw AWB
Be nice to see if Nye Kirby can step up next season as well |

Exactly what I remembered. Crazy to think that was nearly three years ago now. Imagine where he'd be right now had not got the injuries he has?

I'm not sure he will go out on loan next season. Think they will keep him training with the first team and being around the squad

They did announce it on tv here in the US, saying he was Croatian I believe. Tbh I have not heard of him.

Obviously you can't judge on that cameo, but he looked like he fitted in and I think he had a 100% pass completion rate. Really delighted for him to have made his debut and I hope he features more next season.

Quote:
Dreher has been at the club since he was 8, this was his third time on the bench (Man U away in 2016 as an U18, Boro away the following season). He played about six games for the U18s before rightly being promoted to the U21s as it was then. Captained them as a 17-year-old. Was due for a debut in the FA Cup in the season we made the final but in doing so he was rushed back from injury which subsequently worsened his injury and contributed to being out for about 18 months through several other injuries. When he picked up a (separate) ankle injury playing for the 23s in January I genuinely feared his career may be over before it had begun. Fortunately he's made a good recovery and despite the time out he's still kept his ability. As with Bissaka, his talent was clear from the early days in the 18s. He won a penalty as a sub on his U18 debut at 15. I think with Dreher it was clearer that he was talented than Bissaka. It's a very difficult position to breakthrough into, and he obviously has Nya Kirby as competition, but I personally think he's better than Kirby.

Do you feel the same about any others? Woods, Kirby, Tavares, Daly?
