Given how much inconvenience this causes, Sky and BT should be bound to give notice of TV fixtures before the season starts or, at the very least, three months beforehand. I can sort of understand why they would want to give less notice towards the end of the season (if there is a six pointer relegation game for example) but that isn’t the case before April. Sky and BT can surely see when the fixture list comes out in June what games they want to televise and plan and notify accordingly at that point.

It works Super League (Rugby League) - they announced the fixture list on November 8th 2018 ahead of the 2019 Season which kicked off on the first weekend of February. That included all date changes because of Sky television, so, you knew in November that a fixture the following July or August was going to be on a Thursday Night because of Sky coverage or a Sunday afternoon because it was not on Sky.

The only time that did not ring true was the final two weeks of the season.

I don't think that we need to go to that extreme. But, I firmly believe that things can be done better and announced almost weekly with a minimum of 12 weeks notice - August excluded which would have all fixture changes announced when the fixtures are released in June.

I swear that up until a few years ago, all games up until Christmas were decided upon long before the season started. I don't really understand why this still can't be the case?

Still 8pm for the Bournemouth game and 3pm for West Ham.

Just realised this was announced back in June. Oops.

Just a word of caution. Both of these games could still be moved.

Due to the TV fixtures on the previous weekend there now looks to be only 1 game still likely to be played on Tuesday 3rd December. This means that some of the currently listed Wednesday games could be brought forward to give a more balanced schedule and allow Amazon to maximise their potential audience. It is also likely that at least one game will be re-scheduled for the Thursday but this would probably be one of the big clashes such as Liverpool v Everton or Man Utd v Spurs games.

Similarly there are likely to be various kick-off times on Boxing Day and also some fixtures may even be moved to the next day.

I would advise some caution in making final arrangements until these are confirmed.

Along with TV there will be the usual travel impacts for any game in and around Xmas and New Year.

Slightly off topic but if we can somehow come away with another 3/4 points in the next 5 games that run through to the end of Jan is quite nice. City away is the only game you cant see us getting points from.

Palace will probably have strengthened their squad in the January Transfer Window by the time that we play our January fixtures as Roy has mentioned the need for better strength in depth in the squad.

I think we can safely say the Brighton game won't be Friday night @ 8pm or Saturday @ 5.30pm.

Massive 5 games. Our toughest period of the season is then followed by a run of games that "on paper" arent as daunting. 5 points plus from the next 5 games and we will be well on our way to the best season in the prem. As for TV, expect Brighton to be moved along with Arsenal home.

From memory Palace v Brighton has never been a late kick-off on a weekend.

Can't see it changing anytime soon, particularly after knuckle-gate.
