Daughter home for uni reading week. Doubt she's going to do much reading. She's too enamoured with the contents of the fridge, where 'everything is free'. Took approximately 30 minutes to wind up her brothers. Lovely to have her here though.

Watching buses with my 21 month old daughter. (I will hasten to add, I've no time for buses, trains etc ) She absolutely loves them. I work from home, but drove to one of the local bus stations and it made her day. If she's happy, i'm happy.

Bit of everything. She mainly likes watching the buses come in/out whilst seeing the people queue up and she'll then proceed to wave to the drivers and passengers. Very simple and all the old folk smile and comment. I'm taking her up to Gatwick on my day off next week to watch planes and we'll a picnic or something

Watching the ferries at Dover is decent for a picnic.

One of my fondest childhood memories is driving into Dover docks for the ferry for our family holidays to France. Still get that feeling when we do the same although sadly mainly the Tunnel now

My 88 year old Dad has been taking my Mum who has Alzheimers up there pretty much every day for 5 years. He makes a picnic and feeds her whilst they listen to music and it chills her out.

It's his fault I'm a Palace fan BTW, born in Thornton Heath.

Good to hear

Btw, when mine were little, they had hours of free fun convinced they were driving the shuttle between the terminals at Gatwick whilst Dad enjoyed some respite.

Sad I know but other parents will understand.

Jasp. My Daughter is the same although she’s 4 (nearly 5). She’s always loved planes, trains and automobiles....especially buses.

A couple of weeks ago Mrs Andyocpfc turned 40 and I surprised her with two trips, one for us as a trip to Venice and the second as a family trip to a glamping site called Blackberry wood where they have a London Bus, helicopter, Fire engine etc where they have stripped out and made into accommodation. My daughter was beside herself with excitement when we arrived and saw the bus that I’d booked for us. It’s not far from us near Hayward’s Heath. You should check it out as I’m sure your daughter would love it as much as mine did
