Salmond resigned from the SNP in Aug 2018, when 'stories' were starting to appear. It must have taken the police around a year to go through evidence and to decide charges were appropriate (unsure if the CPS applies to Scotland).

I have read the 13 charges against him. Some of which, if true, must have been terrifying and traumatic for the victims if true.

However this one charge, particularly when you think of Andrew being a prince and Trump a president and both uncharged, seems a little weak.

Sexually assaulted Woman A in December 2010 or December 2011 in the Ego nightclub in Edinburgh by touching her arms and hips with his hands over her clothing

Surely that's not a direct quote? I don't think I've ever been to a nightclub but from how they are represented on TV etc it's impossible not to touch other people, isn't it ?? And as for being unsure of the year ? He's accused of something but they're not sure if it was 9 or 10 years ago. Sounds like he'll have to have two alibis / explanations / defences

That was a direct copy and paste from the BBC which listed all 13 charges.

The other charges ranged from minor but chargeable to extremely serious, particularly the ones in Bute House (official residence) where the victims must have felt entirely trapped.

This though was presumably on a public dance floor in a public night club, just not sure what year...

It may well have been totally unwanted and inappropriate attention mind but High Court chargeable?

Sturgeon should really be pressed on this. The SNP white paper was absolute guff. Peston says the BBC, so scared of the criticism they were getting from the cybernats, canned his report on the ludicrous financial claims.

And the SNP just in the last few days are putting out tweets about how great they are for spending more per head on people than the other parts of the UK (which is because of the Barrett formula).

They really get given an easy ride on this stuff.

Maybe it's the type of club that played "ooh ooh ooh, come on let's do the conga". Actually, having read that, I feel those lyrics are a little unsettling.

That last charge could simply be in addendum to another more serious charge by the same complainant?

Trial by (social) media ? that's quite common on the BBS. I am led to believe.

Some of the charges are quite insignificant when you look at the big ones.

Barnett formula I am sure is what you meant.

I think they have a right to crow a little about them not just talking about social justice but the fact that they put it into practice.

They are just about to add free sanitory products for all women to the list while the Westminster government are making great play on the fact they making them VAT exempt!!

The Barnett formula is not perfect but there again how could something so complicated ever be. But really it is not about whether it is fair or not it is about priorities.

The Westminster government does not prioritise social justice anywhere near enough as the Scottish government does.

I'm full of admiration for Monica Lennon's tireless work on this. But given that it was Lennon, and I think had support from all the other parties before the SNP came on board, I'm not sure why I'd give them credit rather than Labour?

Because they are the ruling party and they supported it. If they had not it would not have passed. The issue was affordability and process not principle, but they were persuaded by pressure groups of the virtue of implementing it.

You do not like the SNP I get it, but seeing as you are the idiot that states they are no different to UKIP you show up your ignorance of Scotland and its politics.

I don't mind the SNP, it's just the idea that them supporting a Labour initiative (which the Tories backed also) makes them amazing seems quite a stretch.

On independence, they deserve to be held to account for the nonsense they wrote in the white paper. They have given no answers as to what they would prioritise in terms of tax rises/spending cuts in an independent Scotland with the oil price/volatility we see today. Don't you think they should?

And boasting that they spend more per head than England and Wales is bizarre since that is directly because of the pooling and sharing that comes from being part of the UK which they want to get rid of. So again, the question to answer is what services would look like when that is gone.

I get that these aren't easy questions. But I'm not sure your acting like the SNP is a sister whose honour I've insulted by asking them helps much.

Upto your usual deflection and bollocks.

Something you do on most political threads.

It is pointless engaging with you so I will leave it there.

I really dont get this period poverty stuff. Its a cause celeb of the last few years what was going on before then. These things cost pennies, 3 or 4 pence a day non branded. Whatever the issue its not cost. Is poverty the issue or negligent parents.

As for tax thats a different issue, essentials generally arent taxed and i would assume most would regard these as essentials. However at 5% it wont make much difference to cost.
