For an old fart like me, it is is wonderful to see.

Also being an old fart, i love it. I know there is a long way to go but i can't wait to see Palace youth products dominate the first team squad again. There is something about our home grown players being in the first team.

Did you notice the Liverpool facilities in the background.

As much as Palace's new Academy is fantastic, when you look at what Liverpool have it outwardly pales in comparison. I believe Man City's is mighty impressive also.

This is not meant as a dig at SP or Palace, and in many ways it makes any Palace success all the more sweet at this level.

I see in the video of Rak-Sakyi getting his Premier League debut ball in the canteen that the food in the new academy still looks like standard fare for young men... lots of eggs, chips and beans!

I thought they would be eating vegetables and oatmeal and more healthy stuff... I'm sure they have someone watching what they eat.

After watching the u21s in the Fa Trophy? i can see why he probably isnt good enough to start each game. Does anyone know how he compares against the Palace u23s?

Promising teenage midfielder Killian Phillips (19) has also been lined up to spend some time with the Crystal Palace U-23 side during the off-season. He broke into the first team this term and is likely to have other options if he decides to leave Ireland at this stage of his development.

It's not whether he's good enough. It's the lack of opportunity even after having scored. Instead they are playing a 33yo and a 37yo for 90 minutes a game who have combined for 0 goals.

Spence already played for the U23's last year - 7 goals in 17 games.

Academy is going great, this Club is in a great place at the moment and there's such a feelgood factor throughout. In my years supporting us, it has never been better

That's a brand new ground that combines Liverpools academy and first team onto the same site.

Surely it is more than just scoring, PV continues to play Jordan Ayew who has 1 goal in 50 games but even I can see why he does that.

Benteke doesn’t press. Its one of the reasons Klopp got rid of him. He’s good defending set pieces cause of his height but he can’t / won’t press for 90 minutes.

Olise is still developing physically. You can’t expect him to press hard without risking injury on him.

Ayew is here. He’s not great, but he presses.
