People continue to fail to understand the concept that you need a full squad of players to compete in the premier league, and training with players of a certain level who push the other players for places is needed. Jach and Rakip failed the grade but was Parish to know that? We know Sako is good enough for the bench atleast.

What was the point of signing Sako? when he was released after 3 seasons first time around the fact was he was seldom fit, apart from a few fleeting glimses of form was never considered as being good enough. And now since re-signing it appears he has NOT been fit more or less from day one, also as no doubt he is on a fairly healthy wage? it all seems so pointless.
Some suggest it is to make up squad numbers, but when a player is constantly unfit surely it defeats the reasons he was brought in in the first place? what good is he to the squad, other than putting a burden on our supposedly limited resources.

Roy wanted him. He was signed before the last minute deal for Batshuyai was offered to us on favourable terms. If that hadn't happened he would already had more game time.

He wasn't released, we wanted him to stay. Roy likes him and thinks his presence in the dressing room is good. He offers us decent cover if we lose others to injury. We didn't expect to get Batshuyai.

It was a short term contract for a backup player who already knew the club and players.

I'd start to worry if we give him a new 3 year deal in the summer

Are you sure he isnít fit?

He hasnít made the team because Wilf, Andros and Jeff have been fit and playing v well, thankfully. Whilst Ayew and Benteke offer Roy enough forward cover from the bench.

And the loan of Michy was so last minute that maybe we wouldnít have done the Sako deal if weíd been sure Michy was coming? Come the summer, we can reconsider again.

But if 1 or 2 of those were injured, we could be glad we have Sako available. We have to plan for that eventuality in January, and whilst itís true that he might not play much, that will be because our first teamers have stayed fit. Not his fault.

Donít forget Roy did want him to stay all along, and itís a shame that Sako didnít sign up in the summer, because then he wouldnít be cup tied.

People are quick to say Palace don’t plan, but when we have planned to have cover other various positions it becomes a problem. Where does it upset people Sako being in the squad. We dont pay his wages, the club do, therefore they wouldnt sign him frivolously.

Watched Beneteke closely when he came on last week. Always hoped that with help he would come good. But I doubt it , he stood and watched Andros about to shoot and the keeper save it , never moving in case he spilled it . At least Bakory could beat a player or two, hold up the ball occasionally and hit a bullet of a shot.Besides defensive headers I'm really not sure what christen can now do.

Isn't he available for the QF under the new rules?

This is unfortunately the truth, he doesnt move at all, unless it is guranteed he doesnt waste his energy. You have to gamble as a striker, which you can see in Batshuayi and his movement and goals. I would rather see Sako come on at the moment.

He follows a trend of players Ive noticed who ‘enjoy their own walk’, too busy in their own image to lose themselves in the flow of the game.

There's pictures of him on his insta training last week. So I don't think he's unfit he's just not needed for the match day squad right now. If Andros was injured at the end of the Burnley match though then we'll be needing him on the bench against Brighton.

I don’t know whether this is a whoosh, as there’s been so much silliness written in relation to Sako and the cup.

But no, according to the rules I just read on the FA website, a player can only play for one club per season in the FACup. Had he been an unused sub, that would have been Ok, but unfortunately for us he did play.
