Anyone used the 'park n ride' from Mill Hill or the racecourse ? Thinking it might be preferable to the trains.

I have been unable to confirm this train time but with the game finishing about 14:20 and it taking about 10 mins to escort fans to the the station I would be very surprised if this is correct. There are trains to Brighton at 14:50, 15:00,15:20 and 15:30 but they would not want clashes around the station platforms. Also trains run to Lewes at 14:51, 15:01, 15:21 and 15:31.

I suspect that any special would depart either about 15:15 or 15:35 and will travel via Lewes where it will change direction back up the line so will have to fit in around the 15:21 and 15:45 services from Lewes to London. It would be expected to take about 60 minutes to East Croydon with additional stop at Haywards Heath, Clapham Junction and Victoria.

There are engineering works on the Eastbourne and Hastings lines after Polegate with bus replacements so some services will not run but they usually put on additional shuttle services between Brighton and Lewes.

Eugh yeah, a 10 minute period either side of half time IIRC destroyed us.

Going to be carnage after the game, pissing down with rain added with gale force winds on a 5 minute walk to the station that will take 30 minutes herded together like cattle . And they wonder why people cause trouble

Remember that with dread.
I'd flown in to Gatwick from 30c temperature Barbados that morning and got a stinking cold as s result of going to that awful game

Forecast is improving, will be windy but, the rain should subside before kick off and then showers predicted from about Midday onwards.

National Rail Enquiries now have a direct train from Falmer to London Victoria at 14:58 (as previously mentioned on here).

The scheduled stops are Redhill (15:53), East Croydon (16:08), Selhurst (16:11) and Victoria (16:24).

Doesn't seem to stop at Haywards Heath.

But knowing the train last year, it stopped at more stations than it was scheduled to.

Then there's the issues of what time it will actually run.

I can confirm it’s bloody windy down here and it’s been pelting with rain. Rain has eased off but the wind is still there.

I suspect they don't want to show it as stopping anywhere before Redhill to stop Weed fans planning to catch it or non-football fans planning to catch it at intermediate stations.
