Depends on what you judge that. Townsend really did deliver at Newcastle.
(I want both Bolasie and Townsend in the team). |

He did. 12 games when he had no choice but to battle.. Whereas bolasie has been playing 90% of the time when for for last 3 season in PL and improved every season. I'm reserving judgement on Townsend with us.. But bar Newcastle he hasn't done much. But I agree i want wilf yala and Townsend in the same team.. Pure pace and power.

Their PL stats are broadly similar with Bolasie coming out with more assists.
What's worrying with Bolasie is the number of times he looked like he couldn't be arsed. If he thinks the grass is greener then we shouldn't stand in his way for the right price.

Hes to us like what Bale is to Wales without him we are just a bang ordinary group of cloggers. If we wern't offered 50 million I would say no if Tomkins an absolute no one is 'worth' 10 million then Bolasie who terrorizes just about every international full back he comes up against is worth at least 50.

If west spam want him for me it's 15m+ Antonio ( who was great last season and bolasie like in style ) everyone's happy .. Cue bolasie and Antonio not being very good for either new club btw ... Bolasie should defo stay and prove he's still got it as At the end of last season he looked disinterested bar a few moments of life

How can a player who doesn't score many goals and doesn't create many assists be described as "key to us". Bolasie is an entertaining luxury player who doesn't contribute much to the team in terms of the goals scored column. If any club offers £20m, we'd be foolish to turn it down.

What does it matter if a defender looks stupid, if the ball rarely ends up in the opponents net? This notion that Bolasie is key to us is nonsense. Only WBA and Villa scored fewer goals than us last season. If Bolasie was our main attacking threat, he was singularly unsuccesful.

I'm working on the premise this is shitty journalism based on the fact people are wondering why we are suddenly spending.
Plus the Mirror is a West Ham rag and they want to start the rumours they'd like to see happen. Selling Bolasie would make no sense at all.

That's what I thought too....20 is the bottom dollar price. So if Spurs, West ham and Leicester and possibly even Liverpool or Everton 25 million could be possible.
Don't want him to go but he's been looking uninterested maybe his father's death affected him more than we know. 25 million makes him overpriced but I would like to keep him..

Depends what bolasie we have now.
The explosive, unpredictable awesome powerhouse that could carry the ball the length of the pitch rapidly, turned defence into attack and kept bigger teams full/wing backs away from our end... Keep him The player we had for the last few months that looked like he didn't give a shit and was mostly treading water... Not so much. He was poor towards the end of the season, hardly ran and scoring a couple of goals covered up the drop in his performances. Maybe he needs a change and we should cash in before his price falls. If it's the former I'd love to keep him regardless of the offer though

I think he's going tbh and Townsend is his replacement. KaiKai will step up and Sako will be no.4 winger in the squad. Hope of course he stays because that would mean we'd have an incredible array of strength out wide next season.

I don't know Bolasie but from everything you read from and about him you get a very clear image of someone that is very proactive about managing his personal development. Driven and determined but open to guidance and support, senior players, his personal coach etc. But also very much Bolasie centric. I don't mean that as a negative because I suspect as a player these days it's makes a lot of sense. No club is at the centre of his world, it's his career and his improvement. I get the sense that the best players are like this and so it's a sensible model. None of this stops him being a team player or committed to the club, but they are secondary. It has to come in part from his journey so far. Family and religion also important but maybe less relevant here.
I just get the feeling that he believes, or has been advised, that it is time to move on to make that next step in his development. To a club with better facilities, a better standard of player and almost certainly, exposure to European football. Ironically, with the recent signings, we may well be on the verge of bring some of those better players to the club but I suspect there is a lot to gain from moving to a 'major' club. On his day he can be an amazing player but he has had a patchy season at best and maybe he needs a fresh challenge. I will be gutted when it happens but Townsend's arrival means we are covered, especially if we get a fit Sako and Punch. So maybe he should move on. His work ethic and dedication will help him wherever he goes but I think he has to choose his next club wisely. Arriving as a big bucks player at a club used to success and classy players will move him from our developing hero status to clueless flop needing to prove himself. I think he is smart and good enough to win them over but it won't be easy. My only other theory about him is that he really does fancy himself in that role down the middle. I am not sure that will be so readily available elsewhere because why spend tha cash on a winger and then change his position. But it's all conjecture. He seems such a genuine and nice guy that it would be difficult not to wish him well wherever he goes. I would be disappointed if he left us for someone like Stoke or Everton though and even West Ham would be irritating albeit more understandable right now. The reality is that players move on.
