After what turned out to be fuel probs yesterday, Williams(Bottas) are piling laps on today and have the third fastest lap so far.
Vettel is getting some good laps in today. The Caterham is getting plenty of laps in. The Merc has had a few probs.

From the BBC, it appears Bernie may have told a fib!!!!!!!!!!

Bernie Ecclestone is awaiting the response of Formula 1 owner CVC Capital Partners after a High Court judge ruled the billionaire had committed bribery and lied about doing so.
In a hearing in London on Thursday, Mr Justice Newey rejected an 85m damages case against the F1 chief executive. But he found Ecclestone, 83, had done a "corrupt" deal over F1 share sales.

There have been reports that his 40-year reign over the sport could be over in a matter of days. But private equity group CVC, which has a controlling stake in F1, has not yet commented. After the ruling on Thursday, Ecclestone said he was "relieved" that the judge had rejected the damages claim.
While Ecclestone won that case, the judge said the F1 supremo had been not "reliable or truthful". Giving evidence last year at the High Court, CVC co-founder Donald Mackenzie said the sport's owners would sack Ecclestone if he was found guilty of a crime. In January, Ecclestone stepped down from the board of the company which runs Formula 1 after it was announced he would have to stand trial on bribery charges in Germany, in a separate criminal case. Ecclestone will go on trial in Munich in April to face allegations he bribed a German banker who is serving a jail sentence for receiving the payment. He admits paying Gerhard Gribkowsky, but denies bribery.
He continues to run F1 on a day-to-day basis, but can no longer approve or sign significant contracts.

From Crash.net

Former Caterham driver Charles Pic has been named as third driver at Lotus for the 2014 season. Pic lost his seat with Caterham at the end of 2013, with the team opting for an all-new driver line-up of Kamui Kobayashi and Marcus Ericsson. However, he has now joined Lotus as the team's third driver, carrying out simulator work and offering support at race weekends.

Alongside Pic, Lotus has also announced the signing of Marco Sorensen as reserve driver. Sorensen had been linked with a role at Lotus throughout the winter after taking two wins in Formula Renault 3.5 last year on his way to seventh place in the championship. Both drivers join development driver Nicolas Prost as part of the Lotus line-up for this year

Reserve and Third are the same thing I think, both there to help test and develop the car, and step in should either of the main two drivers be unable to race.

A development driver is often a young guy with potential to make it but not yet ready to compete, so he does testing and simulator work to get him (or her) used to the car and see if they're capable of making the step up.

Talking of Development Driver's and buying drives
From Crash.net

Susie Wolff will get to drive in two free practice one sessions during the 2014 F1 season as part of an 'expanded' development driver role with the Williams F1 team.
Susie joined the Grove-based outfit back in April 2012 and will now become the first female driver to compete in a F1 Grand Prix session in over two decades, building on her run in last year's Young Drivers Test at Silverstone.
She will also continue to work in the Williams simulator to help further develop the Mercedes-powered FW36, which will be raced this year by former Ferrari man Felipe Massa and Valtteri Bottas.

I think we're in danger of being in a season where there are wider gaps than ever between the field and that might be entirely split by whether you're using Mercedes, Ferrari or Renault engines.

I'm actually thinking there's a very real chance that not one Renault finishes the opening race unless it's so conservatively that they are lapped multiple times.

From the BBC:
Red Bull's preparations for the Formula 1 season hit a new low at the final pre-season test. World champion Sebastian Vettel failed to complete one lap at Bahrain on Saturday, but still had two breakdowns in the troublesome RB10 car.
It took Red Bull 150 minutes to get him on the track, after which Vettel stopped four corners into his lap. When the team attempted to send him out again, the car broke down in the pit lane. That was it for the day.

Until they qualify 17th and 18th in Australia I am still convinced it's all a ruse!

Yes, because they're going to want to have the 2nd least testing mileage of the 11 by choice obviously.
