Only three clubs pay their highest paid director more than Palace pay their highest paid director.

Spuds pay their highest paid director (assume this is Levy) £6m per annum. Which given how effectively that club has been run and how much money Levy has mde for Joe Lewis seems fair enough. Manchester United and Arsenal both pay their highest paid directors around £2.6m (Although arsenal’s has since left for Italy iirc). Again commercially very well run clubs.

Then us at 2.something million.

There is an outlier here.

Not really. That risk/reward of ownership and is compensated through increase value of the shares and/or dividend flows.

We are talking about what is a reasonable arm’s length amount to pay a executive chairman (or whatever the Palace name for the role is), which is not about ownership but essentially an employment, when you won’t pay your staff a living wage.

Well you know more than me, but even at £2m it doesn't sound a lot to me.

Itís been a fantastic investment for SP. He hit the lottery with Palace. Weíve been luckier than Brighton.

What did the club cost to buy? I heard that they were then putting a million a year in each. But surely that stopped with prem.

.

Not sure about that, we go down and our wage bill will be twice our revenue which he and the rest of the owners will have to plug the gaps.(barring the obvious fire sale)
Yes he's made his money back but don't see the day he would ever be able to sell his share option.
