I hated him until he became our manager, then I loved him, then he pissed off to QPR I hated him again, but on balance I can't help but like him and his enthusiasm for the game.

I’m just amazed at his energy... seventy one and taking on a rescue job miles from home... Fair play to him.

the same. he's a bit of a brexity Yorkshire, over-opinionated arse, and the way he left in 2010 was a bit poor, although sort of understandable but - despite that - you can't help liking the guy. He seems open, happy, transparent, straightforward and with a lot of passion.

To have the energy and desire to go and work 250+ miles from home with a club at the bottom of the table in the current climate shows that he must absolutely love the game of football.
I know he divides opinion on here but he did a great job for us first time around and a solid one second time and since then I’ve had total respect for the jobs he’s done elsewhere. Good luck Neil! |

I can't help but like him still. Proven championship record. He was the right manager at the right time for us in autumn 2007, gave us that instant improvement and organisation that wasn't there under Taylor (bringing in Hill and Derry). I hated him before that as his teams were always difficult to play against.

Not sure I'd swap Cornwall for Middlesbrough. How long does he need to stick it out?

Don’t get me wrong he is also a massive moaner, but he also uses that to his advantage, siege mentality.

Blimey, the bloke is irrepressible. With his hairline he can play Widow Twanky in panto when he finally finishes his last job.

He is exactly what they need to give them a chance to be honest. Nothing is guaranteed though, especially with a squad that shit.

I like him having a job in football. We were appallingly bad in his second spell, I remember.

We were nothing of the sort, he did a very decent holding job

3 wins, 6 draws and and 8 losses in Warnock's second stint at Palace. 15 points from 17 games. Relegation form, 19th when he left iirc and generally poor, considering what Pulis got out of that squad and what Pardew got out of it at least for a while, but I think appallingly bad is harsh. Warnock at least kept us in touching distance.

Didn't he get us a win against Liverpool

He is surely one of the finest man-managers in the game. He's up there with Terry (spit) Venereals in his ability to get the players respect and to make them want to work for him.
Although that 'charm' didn't seem to work on our Jason Puncheon ![]() |
