Racism in football
With the latest round of abuse, this time against Rashford, on Twitter I wonder what the **** is wrong with people. I would no more do that than put my hand in the fire. These are footballers and in certain cases “my footballers that play for CPFC” I don’t see anything but, overpaid 😉, professionals. If I was a player I would simply take myself away from Twitter or Instagram or whatever. Shouldn’t have to but I wouldn’t put myself through it.

I think if I was a celebrity I’d either not use those social media, or I’d have a member of staff police it for me. They should delete gross stuff and block and report racists etc. Don’t let these people have the attention they’re craving.
Social media reaches millions of people...so sadly there will be a minority who hate you, are envious of you, post messages when they’re **ssed or are simply hateful, maybe with MH issues. Back in the day of fan clubs, celebrities employed someone to filter out all sorts of inappropriate stuff they were sent in the post. It’s not new for this to happen, but it’s just more visible now. |

For the top players it's a big earner for them, so don't think their agents would be too happy.

'Influencer' promotion, that neatly swerves advertising regulations despite clearly being paid for advertising

I'm curious...
Who was abusing Pogba and Rashford? Was it Man U 'fans' pissed off with him (them), or fans of other teams rubbing salt in the wound? Where did the posts originate from? I can't see people under our jurisdiction getting away without being investigated? |

On Twitter there was one guy who racially abused Pogba... then sent another tweet reporting his own racist tweet. The suggestion was... this guy had two accounts and forgot to switch accounts. I think Twitter is a cesspit... of attention seeking... I believe nothing on there... it’s full of *****. I remember Billy Sharp getting tweets mocking him after his child died... and John Hartson getting tweets mocking his friend Gary Speed when he committed suicide. People will say the most horrific things for attention... be good or bad.

More like racism in society brought out by the perceived anonymity of social media.
I get that players and clubs rely on it to a certain extent but it's full of c*nts acting like c*nts and other c*nts agreeing with it, sharing it and laughing at it. Facebook and Twitter don't do nearly enough to clean up their platforms - although the Twitter CEO just had his account hacked so maybe he'll finally look into it properly.

As some above said though - it's highly unlikely that players will delete or not use their social media accounts. As well as ad promotion, their follower numbers are used in negotiations for new contracts as it increases the reach of whatever club they're at. |

Lukaku badly abused by Cagliari fans last night, they’re a disgrace. Shame as I really liked Sardinia.

Pissing me right off. No need for it. Just wankers emboldened by either anonymity on the internet or the rise of populism. I thought things were getting better but the last year seems to have proved me wrong .

Yes but I don't see how any sane person can think that is an acceptable line to put out ffs. Oh it's fine to call you a monkey as they are just trying to put you off.
![]() I'm sure that is going to make the guy feel welcome at Inter now.
