Even though Zaha and Townsend did reasonably well upfront last week, this game is going to be different as Brighton are a strong and physical team especially in Central Defence.
If either Benteke or Sorloth are fit then One needs to play to give us physical presence, allowing our danger men more freedom coming in off the wings.
Make no mistake this will be a tough game as they have some very decent players, but also in the knowledge a win will see them safe.

Also having a target man will help us defending corners. Not sure Bournemouth would've won that flick on with Benteke at the near post, his defending from corners has been the best bit of his game this season (which says a lot)

Throughout the match we couldn't retain possession enough because we packed a target man to hold it up. That meant that when we were in front the game was always a bit too open and another goal (for either side) always looked quite likely.

Also when you play without a Central Striker as we did can work to a degree, but key to that system is having an attacking central midfielder playing the role of a false striker who can burst through the middle which compenstates.
Unfortunately our current problem is RLC having been injured has taken its toll as he struggles to regain the form he showed early season which gained him an England place, has left a void and without a big striker leaves an imbalance.

RLC is a weak link for us and has been all season. He only got in the England side because he is a Chelsea player. IMHO, he should be on the bench as an attacking option only if nothing else works or an injury.

We don't play him in his best position. He bossed a game vs Germany FFS.

That's unfair to say he has been a weak link, i admit he has disappointed from his early season promise and has looked out of sorts in his last 2 games.
But as he showed in the Germany game the quality is there, but unfortunately for Palace it has deserted him off late.
He has all the attributes to make one hell of a good attacking midfielder, it will be interesting to see if we go back in for him next season, and how much Chelsea ask.

Our side is incredibly disjointed at the minute, RLC when fit has suffered because of it. Typical Palace.

Need to start playing players in their best poisitions. So frustrating.

Thought he played well on Saturday and, surprisingly, looked better and became more influential, the longer the game went on.

Agreed. A classy player with bags of potential, he needs a run of games, don't think we've seen the best of Ruben yet. If and when he's played centrally, we should see more confidence and creativity. Hopefully he can stay off the injury list during the run in

FC Midtjylland have just won the Danish title and he's stepped out of a helicopter that has just landed in the centre circle with the trophy.

They will be talking about that for years. 2 goals in the 89th and 90th minutes to throw it away. Gutted. They only have us to look forward to with our summer edition of dicking them around for their keeper.

He's already signed for Eintracht Frankfurt
