I imagine they were delighted when the same thing happened to Trump.
What’s good for the goose and all that.

Are they really a “major” left wing group rather than an example of an empty vessel making a shit ton of noise?

I wasn’t questioning you, SE, just referring to what the SWP call themselves.

In a real crisis such as what we have now, trust is vital. In order for people to respond appropriately to real crises such as a pandemic they need to trust what they are seeing and hearing on tv and social media. However, if people have been fed fake, inaccurate or misleading reports in the preceding years then they are less likely to believe reports about actual crises that we need to do something about when they happen. Which during a pandemic, when we have to modify our behaviour accordingly, is a very serious problem. Last edited by Mr Mojo Risin; 23-01-2021 at 02:18 PM. |

Not about social media but the print media, but it seems the two have merged somewhat. Iain Dale is totally right here but sad that it has taken him until this Tory leadership race to realise the harm and influence those papers mentioned are having. I dare say he has found the vilification and dehumanisation of Labour politicians amusing in the past. Those papers are doing the bidding of a small, filthily rich, corporate elite at the expense of all of us. They have far too much power and it needs to stop but can’t see how.

My son just sent me a Whatsapp of a Twitter exchange between Huw Edwards and "Lord Ian Austin".
How in Gods name did that utter bellend Austin get made a Lord? The croneyism and corruption in this country is beyond the pale now.
