These are real team positions- left midfield is just lazy - left half is great as it is half defence and half attack

What’s ‘inside left/right’? Just the sorta Mane and Salah role at Liverpool?

Back in the early 60s before squad numbers, shirt numbers would define each players role. 2 and 3 were fullbacks who would rarely overlap like they do today. 5 and usually 6 were centre half and left half while 4 the right half was usually the defensive midfielder.

In attack the "W formation" was popular with 9 the centre forward and 7 and 11 outside right and left respectively. 8 and 10 were inside forwards right and left and like attacking midfielders.

Things began to change around the time of the 66 World Cup with Ramseys wingless wonders and over time playing 2 strikers in a 442 was more widespread.

I played inside right out of preference.

So based on one game you’ve decided that every Russian striker who doesn’t play for the national team is shit
