We could make Croydon Arena (Arena) out Withdean stadium for a season (after relegation, of course), and use the time to rebuild just the Arthur and the Holmesdale. Rebuild everything else at our leisure.

The only thing that could possibly make financial sense is a ground share with Fulham but with the big games at Wembley with unlimited away tickets. Fulham is still a pain to get to for most Palace fans but for 13 league games a season wouldn't be too bad (early cup games would be a struggle though).

Anyway there's no money to do any of it so doesn't matter what the options are.
Odd comment. Spurs have no fans in north London.

The “new” WHL very much followed the Essex fc/Bobby the watch thief model, ie ship fans in and out from Chelmsford and other Essex towns / Hertfordshire

Ah, thanks for the info. Must admit I never realised there were no Spurs fans in North London. Just shows you learn a new thing every day.

It's a good point and as I've mentioned before when I take my 5 its bloody expensive for ad hoc games and always restricted views left for top dollar and very very rarely 5 seats together. Was in the area today as the middle son had a match at Bromley so thought I'd kill 2 birds with one stone. Glad I did but not much choice where to sit. Also get there after 2:15 and the closest you can get for parking is about a mile away. It's just a pain in the arse.

With clever ticketing and incentives there really is no reason why we couldn't/wouldn't sell 35k. I think you mentioned the Olympic stadium DE. What's that hold about 60k. Surely a mates rate could/should be available considering it's the london tax payers stadium.

All irrelevant though as you say the new stand is supposed to be developed around the old main stand and I doubt whether theres the will to do it all in one go.

Until the yanks sell up I don't think anything will happen. you would think we must at least be working on finding replacement housing site for the 6 new homes

Just an idea but the club should think about buying up some Croydon pubs that are struggling. The Hare and Hounds on Purley Way is on its last legs.

As much as I hate seeing pubs close if it's going to happen then I'd rather see us benefit from it.

Both those stadiums hold 8-9,000 capacity. Are you assuming we’d been in League 1 by then? In which building new stands will be a zero priority.

Agree. Main stand redevelopment was never happening under this current board

Does anyone know why the scaffolding is still up on the Holmesdale? I know that initially it was to repair the leaky guttering and removing the large amounts of bird sh|t, but i'm not sure why its still there, surely we are being charged a day rate for it?

Was anything actually done while it was up? I cannot say I have ever been affected by the guttering or the large amounts of bird sh!t to know where it was an issue.

I think you are being a little unfair here. I'm sure there has been a lot of effort and intent to get it done.

Croydon Council requirements & Sainsbury's valuation of the land needed, might be outrageously high. I expect there are other issues too. We just don't know.

It would be nice to get an update though

So many hoops to jump through. Transport being one of them and that is big requirement from the Mayor of London. Joke when you consider Tottenham’s f**k fest around their new stadium.

Given what was built in the Holmesdale Road opposite the Royal Mail delivery office surely there are similar small plots of land that a developer might prefer to sell-on.

The pub on the corner of Maple Road / Hawthorn Grove in Penge gave up the ghost last year and has since been converted into 5 one and two bed apartments.

I'd wager that Watford will get their redevelopment completed before we see new Main Stand. They are about to announce plans to put extra tier on Elton John stand in Stage 1 and then redevelopment of Graham Taylor stand in stage 2. Will result in capacity increasing by about 10k to 32k.
