The BBS is full of finicky football supporters,if you look at other football sites like it or not ...Not much difference.

Lose a couple (or close) especially in extra time everything is doom and gloom...But having a cup half fall sees one of the best starts we have had in the Prem.

Everyone has their player to dislike and every club has supporters that will see the doom even in a victory to suck the life out of it for everyone else

Palace are not a top team we are frustrating we will beat United and just know we will get done by Colchester.

We all use to grumble as we watched or walked out the ground in the good ole days and maybe down the pub on the Sunday but that was about it...Use to be so simple then.

Now we get to dissect Palace 24 hours a day seven days a week right to the bone on our own special place where we can dissect each others opinions on top then moan about the moaners.

Basic football supporter fact: Win a few 'happy', Lose a few the world is coming to an end, sack the manager and the tea lady.

There should be a limit on how much you can chat about Palace

Nail on head.

Also, people can now say things that they wouldn't dare say face to face to those that have different views than their own. Cowardly bullies.

I think it's fair to say that most reactions so far this season have been justified.

We have only played seven games but this season has already been a rollercoaster. Draw against ten men Everton at home, lose against an underestimated Championship side after a terrible performance, win at Old Trafford, lose to Colchester, narrowly beat a newly promoted side after some last minute controversy (confusing people in what to actually think), concede four in 20 minutes at Spurs, draw against ten men again but concede with the last kick of the game, battle for a win at home against a newly promoted side.

So far this season has been confusing. We are in a great position, but just about where we should expect to be given the games we've had. We've had some good results, but haven't seemed to have played that "well" in any games (even at Old Trafford).

Bring on West Ham, good luck predicting what'll happen there.

When put like that it's been a pretty exciting but frustrating season so far. "Typical Palace"

I think this is all very true within the context of a seemingly worldwide trend of disenchantment with just about everything, a throw away culture and the pit of vitriol known as the Internet. The ones feeling negative always outpost/shout the positive ones and repeat until it becomes accepted fact. Makes for a happy place huh? Apparently not.

What is interesting, or perhaps a better word is weird is that the 'negative' clamour seems to grow and yet this must be our best PL start and our run since Xmas has us right at the top and probably beyond most expectation? But still moaning? How that's been sustained so far without a recognisable goalscorer is a minor miracle.

Can't imagine what it will be like when we do go on a bad run but suspect we are just about to find out. or should that be

On a less cheery note it does feel as if the club will face an inevitable slide in the PL unless some sort of benevolent and extravagant billionaire owners are found at some point. I don't yet see how we tackle the ageing squad, cost of quality players and the PL clubs inability to move out unwanted players without a dip.

Think the reactions each week have been fair IMO. We have some fantastic players, ones we all wanted to see play for the shirt 10-15 years ago that is now a reality and becoming the norm, though social media and forums allow daily scrutiny that can easily slide into negativity.

We have also seen us mix it and beat the top sides throughout our seasons in the premier league that gives us hope, or perhaps false expectation that our club can put together a seasons worth of good performances, not the usual last 10 game of the season dash up the table.

Saturday will show us where we really stand this season. A tough away game against a side in form.

Posted this on Roy Hodgson thread. It applies here. The reaction has been insane tbh. Sound like a bunch of West Ham fans.

We are 4th. We aren't talking 4 or 5 games. We are talking the last 25 games. Above Chelsea, Man Utd and Spurs.
5th top scorers. Only 2 goals behind the mighty attacking force of Arsenal that everyone bangs

Funnily enough, West Ham must be feeling the same confusion. Sitting in 4th you’d think they’ve had a storming start but their results have been as mixed as ours. Slaughtered 0-5 at home against Man C in their first match; they’ve drawn to Brighton and Villa; lost 4-0 to Oxford in the Cup. Their wins have been against Watford, Norwich and notably Man U although not exactly the feather in the cap that used to be.

It’s a funny old season this one.

The underlying feelings of disappointment after Sheff U, hurt after Spurs and frustration mixed with anger after Wolves are fair, but the issue is (and what I think the thread starter was getting at) that the extremes to which those feelings get taken is not; I've said before, it's like some sort of 'competitive outrage' where a group of posters bid to outdo each other and show just how annoyed they are and that they are most annoyed which must mean that they care the most.
