I don't think it is the law anymore since they scrapped the dog license. Last time I killed a dog with my train I reported it to the signaller and he asked what the **** was it to do with him.

Road kill is upsetting but an everyday hazard pet owners face. This serial killer is absolutely sick and needs to be found

Thats handy, the drivers can charge the owners for any damage.

From a cats perspective, no I don't. Its exactly the same end result, pain, suffering and death. I very much doubt they'd give a **** as to whether it was a sick human or a careful granny driver.

I'm sorry if that offends anyone.

It is still the law that you must report it to the police if you run over a dog. Or a horse, cattle, pig, goat, sheep, donkey or a mule.

But not a cat.

I also have a cat called wilf. popular cat name round cp it seems.

Isn't nice to read this. person doing this is clearly very ill and needs to be found before he tries to hurt a person. should be treated seriously because of this but unlikely that it wil be.

I don't think it's an offensive opinion. Just a stupid one.

Cats getting hit by cars is very sad, but it's accidental and nothing can be done about it. Killing a cat purposely is just disgusting. It really doesn't need spelling out why people are more emotive by one cause of death than the other, regardless of the outcome being the same.

Personally I think making out one is worse than the other when the end result from the cats perspective is exactly the same is stupid. The only difference is in the human mind.

Unlike most, I also find anthropomorphism repugnant.

Each to his own eh?

i had to look that up. Not quite sure of the link to this thread.
There is a difference between a cat being knocked down accidentally and someone deliberately hunting down, killing and mutilating someones pet. Then displaying it for someone to find. No?

Does the same logic apply to people killed by a serial killer and people killed in road traffic accidents?
Of course one gets more exposure. What is your point?

I don't actually believe in the Croydon Cat Killer. I think he serves a religious purpose for owners who've lost their cats because those cats don't want to live with them anymore (it happens) or the cats have got run over and died. The Croydon Cat Killer, in that sense, gives closure to an otherwise uncertain state of not knowing. Also, I think the Croydon Cat Killer, as made-up-entity, is serving a Christ's passion purpose; he's carrying society's cross of feline indifference and shouldering our sense of guilt at not really caring a fig about what happens to our cats after chucking them out at 11 o'clock at night - when Chris Packham tells us not to - because they're scratching the carpet for our attention and getting on our nerves. Let's not blame ourselves for sacrificing our cats and, indeed, our birds; let's blame the Croydon Cat Killer.
