At least nobody can doubt why we had a punt at him anymore because if we were looking at him in January with his stats you would have people telling us this guy is the real deal.

He would have been a better option this season than Wickham or Benteke. Maybe if he continues to do as well as he is then we can bring him back. He may have just been lacking confidence and a decent run of games.

13 games, 6 goals and 2 assists according to wiki. Good going for him so far.

Difficult to judge goals in different leagues but Cenk Tosun looked class in that league and a misfit in the Prem.

Good luck to him, not every move works out. On very brief occasions he looked quite good but it was backed up with a lot of mediocrity.

If he keeps scoring and other clubs are interested, I wonder if the future fee agrees with Trabzonspor is fixed? Players like that can easily go for £10 million if he scores 20 goals and boy could we do with that.

For me... it’s not about AS being brilliant.. it’s about is he better than our current strikers.
he fits our system better than CB and CW.

To be fair to Tosun he was scoring goals at international level and Champions league level as well as having a decent start at Everton. For whatever reason Silva doesn't fancy him.

If we were seeing what Sorloth was doing right now without us knowing about him there would be many here thinking he's worth a punt. A lot of people were too quick to write off Ayew, the same could be the case here. Whatever happens it looks like we'll see a return on our investment or close to it at the very least.

1. He does't fit as well as Ayew.
2. CB's contract and CW's injuries make them unmovable.

Experience has shown that the absence 'Mr Sorloth' is NOT a 'Sore Loss' to our team.

One of the benefits of buying young players. Even if they don’t fully work out, you often still get your money back.

I think we should have taken a financial hit on CB. Like United did with Sanchez. CB is never gonna work out here...we’re just gonna end up paying him 500k a month until his contract runs down.

CW is at best, gonna be a 20 min player for us...if Ayew is injured... we have no-one. AS is the closest thing to Ayew we have. We should not have let him leave if CB/CW is alternative.

It's alright saying get rid, but if no one wants him, then it's 5/6mil minimum hit, that cannot be spent on a replacement. To do that with both Benteke and Wickham would leave us financially struggling in the immediate.

Keeping both, who lets not forget ONCE competed well in this division, and sending Sorloth to a club that wants him and is willing to pay money towards him, means the financial hit is less, with the potential of a sale, and the (highly unlikely) chance one of the previous 2 regains some form of ability.

It would be a brave businessman and football manager to release 2 players for a cost of north of £10m, not be able to afford replacements, turn down money for a 3rd player that hasn't yet delivered anything like the required performance, in the hope that of all the options, that is the most likely to benefit us. That said, it's a shit position to have got into for those to be current options, so something hasn't been done right anyway.

I purposely didn't use the word "release".
I would have rather loaned out CB and paid a % of his wages. I never mentioned loaning CW out... the reason for that is... no club will loan a player that hasn't played a few 90 min games.
I have no problem with AS being loaned out (I don't think he is as shit as some say), I have a problem with AS being loaned out and being left with CB/CW

I'd argue its all about developing a young player actually, as Parish said when we bought him.

With a year left on his contract when his loan spell ends, let's hope he can do the business in red & blue.

Totally agree with this. There's no harm in having another look at him after this loan spell, particularly if he's gained confidence and match time.

He's still got time on his side.
