I don't think it will surprise you that I agree with them. You never know your luck though.
Surrey start the season next week against Essex. Bit disappointed with the fixture list. The next Oval County game is not to June. Why 2 games at Guildford? The four 50 over games have been crammed in at the end of April and beginning of May. Four games in 8 days? And none at the weekend.
Everything geared again to 20/20 I'm afraid.
Like to see Whitgift get a fixture again. It must have been a big fallout.

Terrible fixtures. Three T20 games on Tuesday and three on Thursday
Only one weekend game.

As I mentioned on the first page here is the summary of dates and a few other things that may be useful this season. Most of it has stayed the same but a few minor changes have been made because of the World Cup.

County Championship
Two rounds of fixtures are being played in the first part of the season. 12 counties are playing in the first week and all 18 are playing in the second.
After the One Day Cup group stage and semi-finals 10 rounds of fixtures will then be played with each side playing eight or nine matches. All of these matches are before The Ashes begins.
A standalone round will take place from the 18th August.
In September the seasons ends with three rounds of matches.
The final round of games take place from 23rd 26th September.

A few matches have been brought forward by 24 hours so that some of the match can take place at the weekend.
No floodlight games are taking place.
For some counties more games than normal are being played at outgrounds because of the World Cup. Warwickshire are playing one home game at New Road.
As a result of Division One containing 10 teams three counties will be promoted and one relegated. It will go back to two up, two down next year.

One Day Cup
Due to the World Cup it has been brought forward and starts on 17th April with six games that day including Kent v Hampshire.
The North Group finishes on Bank Holiday Monday 6th May, 11:00 start. The South Group finishes the next day, 13:00 start.
The play-off round for teams in 2nd and 3rd is on Friday 10th May.
The semi-finals are on Sunday 12th May.
The Final is on Saturday 25th May. It takes place at Lords for the last time. It will be at Trent Bridge from next year.

T20 Blast
The T20 Blast starts on 18th July with three games taking place that evening.
The group stage finishes on August 30th, 18:30 start.
The quarter-finals are from 4th-7th September. As this is the same as the first four days of the fourth Ashes test these will probably be played in the evening once play at Old Trafford has finished.
Finals day is on 21st September at Edgbaston.

One Day Cup
Kent v Sussex 21st April
Kent v Essex 5th May

One Day Tour Match
Kent v Pakistan 27th April

T20 Blast

Heard the rumour about the fallout with the headmaster yonks ago. Don't know if it's true or not. You would of thought they could have patched it up.
Shame always a great day there.

If I was being kind, the WC does cause issues with scheduling Andy. In reality, the fixtures have been a mess for a while and only getting worse.

Thanks Andy

Whichever of the possible reasons quoted are true, all those events were a long time ago. Difficult to believe any of them are still relevant, or are matters that can't be sorted, if there was the will on both sides. I can only assume there isn't

I suspect that the number of England call-ups Surrey might have will be a significant obstacle in their title challenge. Perhaps even a critical one.

Standard are bit biased. Like Ian said we will have a lot of players extracted for England so we will suffer from that and the focus I think is on 20 20 or something so let's see

Hope Kent stays up

Yes a very good day for Kent. They should be celebrating tonight as it probably is as good as it's going to get.

I got slightly excited when I saw reports that Hameed had got a ton (now a double) until I checked cricinfo for the scorecard and saw that even worse than it being against Glamorgan or Northants, it is against a bunch of students.

After a very successful first day of the season play is starting in Taunton at 1:10. Kent are bowling first.
