Has any team done well at the Euros or World Cup, with a manager as clueless as Southgate ? Looked clueless and baffled at the post-match interview.
Did you watch him? I counted about 2 forward passes the whole game. His crossing (1 cross all night?) was crap and every time he gets the ball he passes it sideways or back and promising positions disappear.
Defensively he was suspect - too narrow and not covering the very dangerous Kosovan winger. I'm not saying he's worse than AWB, because he can be guilty of the same things. I don't think either of them are in the same league as Kyle Walker going forward, although he's obviously prone to defensive lapses.

He (TAA), was apparently under instructions not to go forward and "take space from England's attackers". He was disciplined in that, but showed his defensive frailties. AWB will develop his forward play (he has the skill set), but TAA will struggle to become a top defender.

TAA is the best attacking full back we have, but he was poor last night. My issue is more with the centre backs with Rice and Henderson in front of them. So slow. Henderson particularly Shaun Derry last night, sideways and backwards.

As for Barkley. Won a penalty that was probably a free kick but was shocking once again. Look forward to having The Ox back in for him when fit, or Maddison, Loftus Cheek instead. Can't see how Mount bypasses Maddison into the team other than he's Chelsea

Barkley was quality at times. Just not enough. Hes the same at Chelsea. Add consistency and hes a good option. Mount, maddison, Ruben, Barkley, foden.. good options going forward

25 years old and has been crying out to add consistency for 4 years. Not saying he can't but if you can't string 90 minutes off good football together against a team that were happy to let us have the ball and trade, thats not a great sign.

And not a leader amongst them. (Maddison might make it as a leader, he certainly has the confidence. Which is apparently why Mr Waistcoat wouldn't pick him )

"Who's going to play with Harry Maguire?"

After that performance they ought to be asking who's going to play instead of Harry Maguire.

Foxes fans can't wait to play the wankers.

Stones and Gomez once both are fully fit. Maguire is a ******* donkey and I will enjoy watching every pundit making that realisation this season. Itís already started with Roy Keane and a few others questioning his defending!

You learn stuff all the time in life. However I donít expect the England manager to have to learn game management. Heís in the top job ffs.

But if, at the same time, heís got us playing the worst football defensively since God-knows-who, it does not auger well for progress in major tournaments. We just conceded three goals at home to Kosovo. We managed to get away with it because they were so open themselves.

It hasnít worked - and it wonít work - when it matters against other teams.

You could say that Hodgson should know more about game management than anyone else has forgotten, but his was definitely iffy in the Villa game.
