Guaita 8 MOTM.Great save point blank from Haller. Another good save after the deflection from a clearance. Lack of communication with Van Aanholt on two occasions. Good save near the end. Unlucky with their goal.

Ward 7 Had a lot to deal with down his side. Going forward he put in a few good balls into the box. In the 1st half a tap in should have been taken from his pass. Got booked. Anderson caused a lot of problems. Reasonable job defensively.
Kelly 7 Assist. Nice distribution. Wilshere went round him too easily near the end. Good clearances.
Cahill 7 Showed great leadership and organisation. Brought the best out of those around him.
Van Aanholt 8 Goal came down his side. Scored a nice penalty. Did make one great interception in the second half. His cross led to the penalty.

Zaha 8 Majestic skill led to a chance for Schlupp. Won a lot of fouls. Worked hard.
McArthur 8 Worked hard. So often in the right place at the right time. Broke West Ham attacks up nicely.
Kouyate 7 Felt he was a great presence in the 1st half. He even looked like scoring. His touch of the ball towards Rice won the penalty.
McCarthy 6 Did a good defensive job. Had a shot well saved.
Schlupp 6 Made some good runs. Linked well with Ayew and Zaha. Goal came down his side. Had an effort off the line.

Ayew 7 Worked hard. Great goal!

Subs:
Townsend 7 His superb cross led to the wining goal.
Benteke 5 Put himself about. Won a header. Wasn't impressed with his jogging. He should've beem sprinting!

Also because I am fed up of people constantly being unnecessarily harsh about him in every matchday thread. He isn't perfect of course but is far better than the BBS give him credit for and is regular in one of our best ever teams and one of best ever defences.

The BBC have given it to him too so I am not alone.

Well done to Ayew - another unfairly maligned on here last season. Not his best game but producing a proper striker's moment. Something we miss at times.

And well done to Roy too!
At the crucial moments PVA delivered. There’s not much more to say. He doesn’t huff and puff, he just gets the job done. Will soon be my favourite Palace player (once Zaha has gone). Real quality.

The reasons are two-fold. 1. In tribute to the crossed Hammers on the West Ham crest, in order to show solidarity with West Ham fans because he ultimately thought it wasn't really a penalty and 2. He was demonstrating to Declan Rice how high your elbows can be before it's considered an unnatural movement and eligible for punishment.

I think we are possibly starting to see some evolution from us being 'Wilf plus 10 others' now. It's really obvious these days that the opposition pinpoint him as our main threat, every time he got the ball there's two or three opposition shirts immediately in the vicinity. We are gradually getting cuter to this now and starting to play around it by giving him more opportunities for little one twos, using him as a decoy and so on. Gradually becoming less dependent on him which is encouraging. Let's not forget he still hasn't scored yet this season.

Some of the passing and movement was excellent.
Looked solid and full of PL experience.
Well played all. Bless ya Roy.
Sky v begrudging in their praise IMO.

Voted for PVA today but very impressed with the keeper, Ayew and Cahill. Credit too to Ward.

I don't normally vote in the poll, but I made an exception today to vote for him.

He is such an unsung hero because he goes about his business quietly, winning the ball, and then giving it to someone else to do the eye-catching stuff. But you would have had difficulty today keeping up with the number of attacks he broke up, and then always finding a Palace player to lay it off to. And whenever one of our players was being pressured in possession, you could almost guarantee he would show up quickly to offer himself for a pass, and then lay it off. He was excellent today

Guaita, Cahill, Kelly, PVA all had good games but McCarthue was key for me. Gave his all harrassing as ever but was key in taking the ball from our defenders without Luka and dictating our play, cleverly feigning here and there and generally distributing well.

Was MacArthur playing slightly more deep today? Seemed to be effective.

I haven't been a great fan of PVA in recent games, however, I think he played extremely well today...long may it continue..

Bizarre ! 86 touches of he ball today, way more than any other Palace player. Possibly one of his best ever performances for us.

It was a very good solid performance ( a typical RH Palace performance ) . No bad performances and some very good ones . My only concern is we do not create many clear chances and Ayew was isolated for long periods . 14 points from 8 games is dreamland for us especially with such difficult matches to come .

Guaita 7 Not over tested but 2 critical stops , looks so confident now
Ward 7 Model pro and another steady performance kept Anderson fairly quiet
PVA 7 Yes some passes are loose but we should appreciate his abilities more
Cahill 8 Just hope he stays fit - wish he was 5 years younger
Kelly 7 Nothing fancy but he is so improved at centr back - Sakho will struggle to get back in
Zaha 8 Thought he worked so hard today and was our main offensive threat
McArthur 7 Did the Luka roll well and is always there when needed
McCarthy 6 For his first start thought he did well
Kouyate 6 Lacks finesse but did his job today
Schlupp 6 Nothing spectacular but on whole a disciplined game
Ayew 7 Isolated for long periods got his reward for crucial goal

Benteke n/a
Townsend 7 Assist for goal

We are relying on defence at moment but there will come a time when we need something different - hope we can get another forward and wide man with pace in January - probably loans though .
