The thinning issue was true. Where Young used to head the ball so much it caused a weakness to his forehead. Not really sure how the little towelling thing he used would help that much but it became synonymous with the Ninja!

I heard he can be found somewhere not being beaten.... you'll never beat the Ninja.

Maybe getting confused with Andy Thorn and Neil Ruddock(?) both getting sent off in the league game vs Tottenham at White Hart Lane in the early 90's

When Ruddock was playing for Spurs, of course

60? Blimey
Difficult to think of a better centre half at the Palace and must have seen at least 40 play for us |

I still think of him looking the same he always did. I certainly don't look like the 14 year old I was though at the same time.

Frightening isn't it that he is 60 now , although the team of the 80s are probably similar age

Me too, ninja had such nimble feet for a big centre half and Andy Thorn’s flick on’s at corners were legendary

For a 0-0 draw it was pretty eventful. Two separate heavy hailstorms and then in the 2nd half Keown absolutely crucified the Ninja. Eric landed so awkwardly and it made a 'crack' sound. I honestly thought he was dead. Ground was silent. Keown red carded but given the history from Wembley I'm sure he was thinking 'job done'. Ninja was eventually led off slowly by the physio much to our collective relief. Horrible day There was also some naughty stuff at Goodison in the September 91 game as well.

That's where Thorn went really high on Ward and received a straight red. Also remember Gray having a barney with one of their defenders.
